I say we start getting more grills interested in writing. That's what's gonna defeat the Patriarchy, not making more and more tests to use as cudgels. Most Writers Are Male and all that.

Then again, that particular test is supposed to be a functional alternative to what is essentially a lampshade. So I'm not surprised it is more useful for authors.

Anything with an exclusive first person male POV is automatically going to fail.

Nope. You've heard conversations without participating. Most of us have.

I don't think there's a scene in all seven Harry Potter books of two females having a conversation that Harry just watches about something other than a guy.

The sad part is that even counting only non-Harry chapters, Harry Potter passes the reverse Bechdel test several times and yet it doesn't quite manage to pass the Bechdel test in that regard.

I dare you to find movies that fail a gender-reversed version of the Bechdel test

Equestria Girls?

Anyway, I think that outside of Hollywood, there are already lots of progressive examples. The problem is that Hollywood is dedicated to incredibly big budget films and playing it as safe as possible, so they'll be the last ones to do anything.

Grills are notoriously bad writers. Every time they try it ends up going up in flames.

On the other hand, grills tend to be very vigorous editors if you give them crappy stories.

Perhaps I should have been less flippant in my choice of words.
