In discussion with the other mods, we agreed that you are reading the trope more narrowly than it's intended. Additionally, you did not offer a specific suggestion for a better page image, or even an idea of how the trope could be illustrated better.

The trope's about characters that are shown to have stereotypical signs of being gay, but whenever they're actually gay or not is never talked about in the story, not about characters that shows both the signs of being gay and the signs of being straight at the same time, like the page image suggests.
Even if it isn't, the fact that the title of the panel says "mixed signals", as well as that chipmunk-like character in the corner there stating "I'm confused" in the sense of not knowing whenever he's gay nor not, implies that it's not an example to me, either way, unless the trope's expanded to include "showing both the signs of being gay and the signs of being straight at the same time".
