Just watched this on my SO's stream-list as he's going through the new season of anime. Saw first episode.
Wow.
Already hooked.
I think there would have been a time when this would have been "too soon" as the tower-explosion looked a bit uncomfortably familiar for those of us Americans who remember 2001, but... that's pretty much what this is about. In Tokyo. And the bombs are dirty. It's pretty interesting to see a story / an anime done from the perspective / with the protagonists as terrorists. Great art style, great music (of course, Yoko Kano), and it has a nice, tight thriller vibe so far.
Well, I'm intrigued.
In which I attempt to be a writer.I'll repost my thoughts from the Summer Season Thread:
Terror in Resonance did some interesting things with its cinematography - the "camera" is actually kind of treated as a real camera, and has actual focus. There's one shot in particular where it tracks a character running that was really good. It's hard to tell what this will be about. Well, we can probably glean from that episode that the protagonists are escapees from some sort of experimentation facility, possibly with enhanced senses/genius intellect, and are now... exacting their revenge on society? All will be revealed in due time, I suppose.
this was great so far my favourite shows of the season are
Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya 2wei!
Zankyou no Terror
Aldnoah.Zero
First scene was awesome, OP is great, visuals are nice, overall it is awesome. This could easily be anime of the season.
Loved the first episode. I hope that these guys stay as villain protagonists rather than misunderstood heroes. It has been a while since I've found something with villain protagonist (& very mysterious or intresting ones at that).
Very atmospheric. Not sure if it can keep it up or where it is going, but it got my interest at least.
definitely enjoyed the first episode. production values are through the roof in cinematography, direction, and music. the story is giving me V for Vendetta vibes.
The Zankyou no Terror article is now live already.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"Fukken impressive first episode. Definitely has my interest.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialAnyone know what kind of text messages Lisa's mom's sending her?
i. hear. a. sound. The first episode was delicious!
Lisa's mother's very worried about her, it seems. Well, she seems to have been bullied a lot. I don't think she enjoys the constant messages, though...
The tower's destruction... Reminded me of 9/11.
And that teacher. The one with the beard. He reminded me of Vincent. Heh.
What was that tower that went boom? I've seen it a lot in shows about Tokyo.
EDIT: Got it. Ooh, pretty big deal.

What's precedent ever done for us?It is. It's a well-known landmark in Tokyo.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"Second episode.
What I find most interesting about this show is that it's clearly striving to be intensely modern - Tor, Mentos, the really detailed Apple products. And yet this episode was about two different versions of an ancient riddle. Hm.
This show is so good. That is all I have to say for now.
Dang. I parsed the riddle as the 'popular' version and overlooked that what the actual riddle said.
I caught that it wasn't the traditional 4-2-3 riddle but the change of order threw me for a loop because I hadn't even heard of that variation.
Also the Japanese pronunciation of Oedipus was... distracting.
I think I was most entertained by the idea of the myth of Oedipus being available in manga form.
My Megaman and MegaTen liveblogsHaven't heard of that variation before either. That was pretty smart.
Liking the Shibasaki guy, he's shaping up to be the L to the terrorist boys' Light.
"And you must be Jonathan Joestar!" - SueThere's a manga version of Mein Kampf. I wouldn't put anything past Japan.
Episode 3: even better than the last two. This show is absolutely fascinating. Shaping up to be a real hit, in my opinion.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialIt is interesting. It's pretty rare that something be this interesting when I don't actually like any of the characters.
Poor Lisa. School sucks, home sucks more, and I think they're setting her up to be a suicide bomber later on. Nice work, Shibazaki-san! Shibazaki-san is a good candidate for "character to actually like."

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Wow, they're really pushing the summer/winter imagery, aren't they?
Also, wow, that's some frank discussion of nukes, huh?
Okay, this is definitely gonna make Real Big Statements about children.
FBI agent woman is the one they left behind?
More child imagery.
And more summer/winter stuff.
Starts airing on Noitamina on July 10 2014. The title has been variously translated as "Terror in Tokyo" and "Terror in Resonance"; it literally means "Echo's Terror". Shinichiro Watanabe is directing and Yoko Kanno is composing. Funimation gives the description thusly:
While the world searches for a criminal mastermind to blame for this tragedy, two mysterious children – children who shouldn't even exist – masterfully carry out their heinous plan. Cursed to walk through this world with the names Nine and Twelve, the two combine to form “Sphinx,” a clandestine entity determine to wake the people from their slumber – and pull the trigger on this world.
