No it's not.

But what if you were dragging your sword along a line of blade sharpeners?

Maybe if you were having a fight inside a cutlery factory or something.

Ink kinda reminds me of Splatoon played in the dark.

Would have been nice to have 'Night' levels where the only reliable light is from your own glow-in-the-dark ink. Splatfests look cool, but are still a ways from that.

It also opens up poking fun at Inkling couples for "Private 1v1 Dark Room Matches" :V

"Splatoon meets Super Meat Boy" pretty much sums that Ink game up.

And yeah, being able to play in night time stages without splatfest would had been nice. They should have just added them into the regular rotations.

Even making night matches a Private Match option would have been cool.

I haven't tested it out myself yet, but do you guys know if the Callie & Marie amiibo make battles at night?

They don't do that sadly.

All you really get are just exclusive night performances.

Yeah, all the amiibo do at the moment is basically turn the splatfest aesthetic back on and let you watch Callie and Marie perform music. Which is cool, since mainly I just wanted the figures anyway.

Also that Ink game looks pretty cool. Like somebody took the "invisible platforms" from the singleplayer mode and made a game out of it.

Streaming Splatoon tonight in about an hour (7 PM EST), if anyone wants to come watch/play.

Although I am planning on doing Ranked rather than Turf Wars.

I'd jump in if I was still S rank, but I got busted back down to A+ and I don't want to do squads again until I'm back in S. If you do switch to Turf wars I'm in though.

Streaming now, but after thinking about it, I think I'll start off with Turf Wars before doing Ranked due to being severely out of practice.

I'd be happy to join if I could get to my Wii U at the moment, but I can't.

So the squad will have to go without my inevitably not-that-helpful a- contribution.

Aaand I have to run out for a bit. If you're still doing turf war when I get back, I'm in for a few matches.

I have too much of a headache to be Splooning right now (that and I should be finishing my foundry report).

Okay, I'm going to try hopping on.

It's interesting how the gear are only level 1 gear that aren't leveled up.

I'm disappointed I missed the stream. I need to check this thread more often

@No Limit: Splatoon competitions in Japan tend to use unleveled gear that is 'standardized' to make sure every player has the same abilities. One of the previous tourneys had everyone wear the Amiibo school uniform.

Finally back in S rank. Took me long enough.

I'm back down in A. Not good for my self-esteem and i want to stop, but you get your hits occasionally that keep you hooked.

In my case there was one on Rainmaker last night where we were way behind going into the last minute, Port Mackerel, so the other team picks up the rainmaker and goes way back into their own space with it, up into the narrow walkways that go above the main drag. I'm near the center of the stage, whip out my Killer Wail, aim it at them and splat them with about 10 seconds to go. Zip back, climb up (because in Ranked you can paint up an area you can't in Turf Wars), start breaking the shield just as the clock runs out, it goes into OT because nobody's contesting me for the shield, i pop it, grab the rainmaker, and it instantly ends the game as i was closer to their goal than they had ever gotten to ours, despite the imbalanced score to that point.

That'll teach 'em to camp near their base. I've been on teams that have done that before (and lost for similar reasons), and it makes me livid every time.
