Well, we finally have the internet set up in the new house. Hopefully in the next few days I'll get a chance to find out whether the connection is good enough to actually play online. The data won't be a problem, but the ping is probably worse than back home, so I might get lagged out a bit more. I'll have to find out.
EDIT: Hooked up the Wii U and played a test match in Turf War. Everything seems to be working fine.

Back to A+ after my long and undignified slide from S to A with some good matches in Splatzone - Moray Towers. Ninja Squid's fallen off a lot since the nerf, but it's still useful on maps like that in Splatzones because you can camp the zone in unexpected places. Lots of little nooks around the zones in that stage, some of which work as a vantage point because people wouldn't think to ink there.

Splatoon is truly technicolour, unlike any Real Is Brown drek flooding the market :V
BTW, some of those hackers did play with the colour settings, and the darkness of a colour choice also affects the reflectiveness, so black ink becomes almost painfully shiny because of glare effects being amplified.
Running around with the Brush's roller move makes me think of swordsmen dragging their swords through the ground as they charge, only instead of throwing sparks you're leaving a trail of ink instead :V
