You'll git gud along the way.
Tip: motion controls feel really weird at first, but when you get used to them, your aim will improve in speed and accuracy and you'll be able to jump and aim at the same time.
And do "twitch shots" or whatever you call it when you quickly aim one direction and immediately turn the other.
Just make sure no one sits right beside you.
Derp, double post. Anyone online for some squad battles?
Get some shoes with Ink Resistance Up. They help a lot.
Without Ink Resistance, you'll take 50.0 damage in a shorter amount of time (1 second).
You can also jump higher in enemy ink with the ink resistance, about as high as you can while charging a heavy splatling. Without it, you'll have the minimum jumping available which is the same jumping you can do while charging a hydra splatling, or while during an Inkstrike or Killer Wail.
While in enemy ink you move just a little faster than when you do charging the heavy splatling. Without it, you go a little faster than when charging the e-liter.
All of that of course means while not shooting while you are in enemy ink, since shooting slows you down further.
Hmmm... Ink Resistance and stack a lot of Defense Up, good idea?
It also means that if you spend too long in enemy ink you can eventually get OHKO'd by a Bamboozler at full charge.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Has there been any time you or anyone else has gotten out of a bad spot because of Ink Resistance?
Because even if you do have it, standing in enemy ink + getting shot at = 90% chance of splat.
Oh yes, definitely and regularly.
It is almost absolutely essential for me, at least with any short range weapon. I consider it possibly the most important ability in the game.
Really? I should try having it more often and pay attention to if it helps or not.
Then again, I like to use Blasters, if that matters.
I don't know if I'd consider it the most important, but yeah, it can be very helpful in maintaining mobility. That said, if you're using a roller or brush, it's probably not quite as important.
Reaction Image RepositoryInk Resistance is too stronk for Brush users, because it helps you to escape enemy ink that you'll often end up in due to manuvering.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!I mostly use Ink Resistance with weapons that have more trouble inking a reliable area to swim in, like the .52 Gal and the Splatling. I prefer to sacrifice that ability for a regular stat boost with weapons that can ink swimmable areas quickly and effectively like the Splattershot, the Jr., and the Inkbrush.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."I should preface; between my main and alt account, I have sunk 341 hours into playing Splatoon. Just keep in that mind.
I've noticed a particular phenomenon as of late. Occasionally, though not often, I would see my inkling lunge forward for a split second. At first I thought I had bumped my left joy-stick by accident, but I wasn't paying attention enough to properly confirm or deny that idea.
Earlier today, I got Legend of Zelda Minish Cap off of the E-Shop. I noticed that Link would suddenly walk up despite my input. I messed around and I can safely say, my left joy-stick is messed up. How messed up is it? You know how the joy-sticks have some wiggle room before hitting some kind of resistance? Well, simply touching the joy-stick causes the Wii U to think I am pushing up.
Granted, I don't think Splatoon is the sole reason for this problem. While I play Spatoon almost exclusively, my brother plays Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule Warriors just as much. So I think my joy-stick problem is more due to my brother and I playing such adrenaline inducing games.
I guess what I am trying to say is this; if I am not playing Splatoon anymore, it is likely that my tablet has finally become unusable. So far, that's not the case and I hope it stays that way.
We are all made of star stuff. Very, very weird star stuff.Wait, you actually managed to break a Nintendo product? Can you shatter bricks with your toe?
But seriously I hope you can get a replacement or something.
Reaction Image RepositoryYeah, that sucks. :( Given how expensive the dang GamePad is, I've always been nervous about mine... Though not exactly always treating it as well as I should. <_<
And Nintendium just ain't what it used to be, sadly. But then, the part that is failing is Orion's stick, and Nintendo's control sticks have had... more fragility than any other part of their devices since they started including them on their products. I mean, the N64's was just plain badly designed, but even past that...

My Wii U is mostly for playing Splatoon, although I've been tempted to sink a little moolah into getting some Virtual Console goodness.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!I've presently only got Smash and Splatoon for my Wii U but I might get Bayonetta for christmas.
I'd also be planning on getting the new Fire Emblem IF IT WAS ON THE WIIU
Well, it's not Fire Emblem exactly...

If you are looking for a game that is like Fire Emblem, there's Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising on the E-Shop.

We are all made of star stuff. Very, very weird star stuff.Nintendium never applies to control sticks.
Remember the victims of Super Smash Brothers for Nintendo 3DS? Similar problem.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!I'm hoping I can score Yoshis Woolly World for Christmas. I also need to get around to finishing Bayonetta. I got most of the way through it and got distracted by squids.
Reaction Image RepositoryI realized that sticks that...stick can be easily (temporarily, but solves just as well) fixed.
Just blow into the bottom parts of them. Honestly fixes ALL my sticking problems with Nintendium.
The Nintendo Treehouse Splatoon tournament is live right now if anyone is interested.
Mahi Mahi Resort coming tomorrow at 6 PDT. Just announced on the stream.
I just got the game yesterday and am now level 5. This game is fun. I have a tough time with close-range combat (I've been using the Splattershot, as the Charger is kinda hard to use effectively) because I get stuck in enemy ink and then proceed to get owned.
