Can't link to the trailer, but apparently Neptune's gonna be Peach Beach Splash's newest guest character. This inclusion confused me, but then I remembered that Neptunia's Warriors spin-off seemed to be based more off of SK Versus than Warriors. So in a way, it's a pretty neat little nod.
That aside, Purple Heart wasn't seen anywhere in the trailer, so my enthusiasm for Nep is pretty much limited to just appreciating her inclusion for the cameo aspect and her potential for meta humor.

Really tho, consider her boob size, Vert would have been better suited than Nep lol. I mean even in PBS we only have 2.5 girls that have boob size that's B cup or smaller. Also yeah it makes sense since Tamsoft already made 3 Nep spinoff games.

Oooohhh. I never knew that Re:Burst (Or Re:Newal as it's known as now) was also coming to the PC. Guess that solves the "I want to try the game but I don't have a PS 4" problem I have at the moment. XD

Nah, it was only for the Playstation, though I expected a PC announcement eventually. Refle was the Switch exclusive one, much to my personal annoyance (you'd think they make a version of Renewal for the Switch seeing as it's a remake of the 3DS game -grumble, grumble-).
I'm more surprised at the Refle inclusion. I felt like the premise was a bit too out-there even for SK. It's not quite my bag (I've never been that big of a fan of the whole "Dressing Room minigame" thing they've done as the series went on, and everything else I've seen regarding it just made it seem like a waste of time), but if the DLC is released alongside it, I might pick it up.

I'm just wondering if the Switch game will have a physical release or not.
I downloaded and played the remake's demo, and I'm not impressed.
The game does play faster than EV and the textures are better but is more of the same with none of the new additions offering a substantial improvement on the gameplay.
The camera is still terrible and the lock on, useless. It has come to a point were simply mashing buttons without trying to follow the action on screen is easier. Characters still suffer from being interchangeable, all of them have the same basic combo of attack-attack-launcher-aerial rave-slam-repeat that is pretty much all what you need to demolish what the demo throws at you.
The addition of the AOE auras for every enemy attack also takes the little challenge the Versus series had, since every attack becomes telegraphed and the launcher attacks can stuff any attack. I've seen people comparing the boss battle to that of SK 2 simply because she can break out of your combos but that is where the similarities end. The boss have pretty obvious attack patterns (I was reminded of Megaman bosses) that make incredibly easy to counter all of the bosses attacks. Furthermore, the auras have more or less turned the guard and the parry into game breakers since they can stop any attack.
The Burst mode is completely superfluos and just of a "win more" addition, I guess is good to have but ultimately I don't find it to be a worthwhile addition.
That said, if you loved SV and EV then there's no reason to not pick this game since it will give you more of the same. But if you're looking for something more, better pick up Valkyrie Drive or pray SK 7 actually overhauls the formula.
Alright a couple of things:
E3 had a trailer
for the English version of Renewal. Since I'm actually playing through the first game right nownote , I'm pretty interested in the remake, although I'm more interested in Yumi and Miyabi's appearances, since I expect the main plot of Renewal to be relatively unchanged from the original. Plus, I still haven't gotten around to playing SV or EV myself (and I've only dabbled in the Valkyrie Drive game), despite owning them, so everything looks way more flashy to me than usual.
In other news, Refle/Reflexions is still getting DLC it seems. Our favorite bean sprout fanatic Yomi joins the weird hybrid romance/Dressing Room spinoff, bringing the total number of characters to five (along with Asuka, Yumi, Murasaki, and Ryona, unless I missed a DLC character somewhere). So far all the choices have made some sort of sense to me (Yumi's mega-popular, Murasaki seems to be not far behind her, and having one of the few characters who enjoys Dressing Room shenanigans show up in the game just makes sense), and as far as I can tell, Yomi is one of the more popular characters in the series, so I'm a little surprised she hadn't shown up earlier.
If they continue putting out DLC, I kind of hope we get more... "quirky" choices like Ryona. Like, I'm kind of want to see characters like Miyabi, Naraku, Katsuragi, Hikage, Homura, and True-Form Kagura in this, if only because I think their interactions would be more interesting.
Still waiting on my Daidouji solo game, because that'll happen.
It seriously astounds me how prolific this series has become.

According to Takaki, the Yomi DLC might be the last DLC for Refle. We also should get some info on Peach Ball and season 2 soon most likely.
Hm, shame then. I was hoping for at least one other non-obvious character like Ryona (though she's obvious in hindsight I'd say) and Murasaki, but I guess a "team" of five is enough. I imagine the cost of the game plus DLC now equals a full priced title.
I bought Estival Versus on a lark because I figured it would be decent and... It was. Not astounding, but Decent. And with enough content to keep me entertained for quite awhile.
I also definitely enjoy the fact that someone seemed to have asked "So how do we handle love interests in a game where the entire cast is female?" and someone else shrugged and said "Make'm all lesbians."
Just wish Daidouji had her muscle in-game.

Well I didn't get to see much do playing on my 3Ds while watching but what I did see told me that there's a pinball game and a new anime coming out at some point. We also got to see what Auska's model for 7even looks like so that was neat.

Eh, I've been dabbling in New Link off and on, but my inability to understand Japanese hinders my enjoyment somewhat (I mean, I'm also trying to learn the language, but time is not my friend right now and I'd be lying if I said I bothered getting into the game just to help with that). Still, glad to hear about the DOA collab, since I love that series. Hopefully it's more than just Ayane, Marie, and Honoka though.
As far as the pinball game is concerned, it looks... surprising? I was honestly trying to figure out how they would make a pinball game "sexy", outside of maybe flashing a few suggestive CGs/poses throughout the gameplay as they are wont to do, but I was never expecting... that. I've read that they have a Refle/pinball bundle pack, which IMO is probably the best way to go about it. I mean, I usually find pinball games pretty fun, but I have absolutely no idea if I even want this one.note

But yeah. It's just pinball with that Senran/Takaki flair (although the imagery makes me think of some bizarre sexualized version of Monokuma's Punishments, which is inadvertently making this more uncomfortable than it should be to me)... I wonder what kind of crazy BS ninja magic resulted in this happening In-Universe, cause I'll be really surprised if there wasn't a story to go along with this game (unless they're cribbing from New Wave where a lot of the situations depicted in the cards probably wouldn't actually happen... probably). ...Unless it's some sort of publicity stunt.
In all seriousness, the gameplay itself looks fun at least (granted I'm a fan of pinball). I think the last time I played a pinball video game outside of a Sonic game was Kirby's Pinball Land, or whatever it was called, which was pretty fun.
EDIT: I just realized neither of these are newnote , but they both showed up in my recommended feed earlier today, which strikes me as odd.

Bet that OP's better than the game. Well, that might not be fair. But it's amazing how much the franchise is spreading into different genres like this.

I find the OPs in this series to be pretty average. Might have something to do with the anime artstyle not looking right to me compared to the illustrations. It's one of the reasons I'm not terribly excited for a new anime adaptation right now.
And I wouldn't count on seeing Daidouji with defined abs unless they do something more with the character models in the future. They've gotten better with them by the time PBS was released, but I feel they can diversify them a bit more for certain characters like her. Maybe we'll see something in the next game.
Now for something actually new: Uppers, the SK team's male-oriented brawler that was only released on the Vita in Japan, is getting an international re-release in HD for PS 4 and Steam. Here's the trailer for it.
A feature the trailer only hints at is the "support system" that basically involves those girls who sideline the arena during brawls. IIRC, it's largely a fanservice-laden boost your characters can get depending on who you pick as your support characters. It could probably be considered to be akin to SK's clothing damage as far as aesthetics go.
Also, Daidouji's supposed to be a (hidden?) character in the game. I haven't seen how she looks in it, but I wonder if the rerelease will include anyone else from SK (although Daidouji's probably the only SK character who fits the tone of this game, given her personality and fighting style).
I didn't see a proper release date, but Marvelous's site lists "Q4 2018". I heard the game didn't sell much at all in Japan, so maybe this is specifically meant to see if it appeals to Marv's international fans.
