Reptile is also in cahoots with Kotal, as are Ferra & Torr. Is the woman in the top middle panel Frost? Jax looks old as well..
Cassie is supposed to fight Frost in a cage match in a later issue, so that's probably an image of that fight.
This all seems really silly.
I plan to grab it when it comes out in TPB. I hope it makes more sense in context?
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I'm still trying to figure out why they bothered having Sindel kill everyone in the first place.
The page in question
Nice to see Fujin back and I have to say I'm in love with Kotal Kahn. Not every day you get a truly aztec character on american media.
The name is kind of dumb but I guess they were going for the Kukulcan similarity (Guess Huitzilopochtli was too weird)

The more I think about it, the more Reiko dating Mileena makes sense.
Mileena is a depraved predatory monster so I can't imagine she's overly picky, and Reiko is an obsessed Shao Kahn fanboy. Sleeping with Kahn's "daughter" is the closest he will ever come to his shimmering icon.
I support this Crack Ship on the grounds that it must end with her eating his face.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.The comic is supposed to be a prelude to the game, so I'm pretty sure you can count it as canon.
They'll probably explain the revivals. Probably.
If that is Reptile with Kotal Kahn, then he has notably reverted back to his human form.
A number of these tidbits are seen right at the end of issue one. Raiden says he can't see into the realms properly (talking to Fujin in the Thunder Temple). He gets a magic dagger and says that he has used its power to extend his vision before. He cuts himself with it and we get a page where you can see him looking in on events happenening all over.
The dagger he used has some connection to an ancient blood god or something. There were three magic daggers and the one that was explained was connected to a blood god... and Quan Chi.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireAssuming you're talking about what I think you're talking about, would you kindly explain... how?
Also - heh. More revived characters.
...from the looks of that panel, it seems there might be some Crisis On Infinite Earthrealms going on here. Jax is either training with his daughter, his sister, or his gender-flipped counterpart from another universe. And Mortal Kombat is all about parallel dimensions coming together to murder each other after all, so that's not even totally absurd.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Well the comic is doing its job of getting you to read it

I'm A Pervert not an Asshole! The two guys in the snow at the top left are Scorpion and Kenshi's son (trained by Scorpion), btw.

I wasn't complaining (openly), but I'm really just snacking off of what few details about it I see here.
I hate it when sequels push off little details about Whatever Happened to the Mouse? into comic book miniseries. That's not Mortal Kombat's fault, I've always hated that.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).A female successor to Jax would be BOMB.
If Netherealm were smart they'd jump on that opportunity considering how starved for black female fighters games are.
Make her what Vanessa Lewis should've been. GET ON IT NR. OMG a brawl between her and sheeva...wait where is sheeva? I want sheeva back :[
Also reiko in his MKA attire makes me think he's going to die...nooooo he was the best revision in MKA by FAR.
Man, I'm tired. I had to look at the image multiple times before I realized that Reiko WASN'T copping a feel.
Weird in a Can (updated M-F)In addition to going in depth with Kitana and Kung Lao playstyles and variations, Boon hinted at two character reveals.
Looks like lots of stuff to look forward to.
Comic number 4 is out. Kotal is in an ongoing war with Mileena. D'vorah and some new guy named Erron Black (which sound a little too much like Ermac to me, here's hoping!) are his minions. Dude's more diplomatic than the heart-eating would imply. Jax has a daughter named Jacqui, who we saw in the preview from last issue. Also, there's going to be a deathmatch between Frost and Cassie Cage, and Cassie's already been confirmed for MKX...
EDIT: Whoops, misread a small piece.

For one reason or another, Kotal strikes me as more of an anti-hero than an outright villain.
Let's not hold the heart-eating against him. This is the same game where the Big Good can explode his opponent's face.
Gunslinger. Sweet.
Oh man, I'd be incredibly pleased if Kotal turns out to be a decent guy. NRS went the extra mile to avert Mayincatec, if they also avoid to make him evil is gonna be amazing.
So, you think there's going to be any guest stars?
Is this a Jo Jo reference?Doubt it. Other fighting game series are either not so keen on dismemberment or haven't had an installment in decades (Clayfighter). Another movie character could be, and while I do think a Xenomorph or Predator could work, the alien has too different of an anatomy, and you'd run into the Motaro problem again, and the Predator is basically in the game already, as the cyborg ninjas. (Who haven't been announced yet at this point...)
So in addition to the livestream mentioned above it appears that IGN's got a character reveal set for tomorrow.
In light of the comic, I'm halfway expecting Mileena, Jacqui, or Erron.

What's this?
Mileena's fight Kotal Kahn for reign of Outworld? I suppose Motaro mentioned that she was the rightful heir.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).
It seems the "Netherrealm war that was talked about revived a lot of people. Either that or they decided "Being dead sucks!-So they walked out of Netherrealm. Also, it probably is canon, so yeah.
