Search Page Opens New Tab

When I search for something using the top bar, it shows the list, when vanishes for a split second and then reappears. When I click on an item in that list, it opens the page in a new tab rather than in the same tab. Is this supposed to happen? Are the pages in the new tab legitimate? I know it sounds really petty but I'm worried there might be some kind of virus...

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.

I'm getting it too, glad I'm not the only one. That said, google's been acting up for me, maybe it's some kind of update or bug in their system.

Aheyup. Same here... though I don't use tabbed browsing (don't like, which is why I downgraded back to IE 10 since IE 11 only uses tabbed browsing - that, and it's glitched and buggy), I'm experiencing pages opening in new windows; though this only happens when I browse throughout the wiki. If I click from page to page, no problems, though when browsing, and I click on a result, it opens in a new window.

If I'm not mistaken, that has to do with your Google search settings (since you are, after all, using Google search).

I'm having the same problem.

And I don't think any of us changed the settings.

Okay, so I tested it out by changing my own Google search settings, and while it does what you'd expect on a normal Google search, it still opens in a new tab in the TV Tropes search. So I guess I was wrong after all.

So I tested it this morning and for some reason, it didn't do it. The search results didn't vanish for a split second, and the result I clicked on opened in the same tab. I don't understand, but I'm glad it's back to normal, at least for now.
