Kind of annoyed by how they're making a FSN remake.
I mean, I know that the first anime wasn't exactly spectacular, but I felt that it was decent enough at getting the point of that specific route across, and because there's a different, fresher Fate/ thing available.
MMORPGs are serious business.Or, specifically, "how to tell that story as an anime sequel to Fate/Zero". AS Hylarn said, by just assuming a good deal of the audience will have familiarity with F/Z changes a lot of things. Many, if not most, of the twists of the stories were already "spoiled" to that audience.
It was certainly not decent enough to provide a continuation for Fate/Zero, though. Of course, it wasn't meant to be (that would be impossible), but that is enough reason for why we need that new anime.
Also, again, not exactly a remake unless they are dumb enough to adapt solely Fate again (with minor elements from other routes).

if it isn't Heaven's Feel or UBW ,I'll punch someone. also the ideal thing would be to read F/SN BEFORE watchiz F/Z and this anime. It's not like the VN is hard to find on the Internet if you know where to look
It's rather hilarious seeing the route arguments break out immediately. Especially since it's literally the same arguments used in the fandom for months as if everyone was reading from the same script.
That being said, I'm something like 95% sure it's going to be Fate.
So this is what its like in anticipation for which route will be adapted.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I'm pretty sure they announced something about going into a whole new plot that isn't tied to any of the routes. Correct me if I'm wrong.
No, that was misinformation, we don't know what they're doing.
And on Nasu's blog, we heard that he spoke to ufotable to make sure they view this as an original work, not as a F/Z sequel.
Here is what the guys at ufotable responded with: "Of course we know. Rather than a continuation of zero, this is a new work called stay night."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFmGNqji4u0Trying to bed FSN to make it fit better with Zero would be hilariously backwards.
I didn't know you liked Illya Arha. I must have confused you with someone else, cause I could have sworn you said that you didn't care for her cause she was so sadistic when she first showed up.
One Strip! One Strip!Fate/Zero was such an eyegasm and eargasm that I'm kind of curious to see how FSN would look with the same budget… but yeah, another Fate adaptation seems kind of superfluous. Yeah, HF is pretty hard to adapt due to… well, being originally written with H-scenes (I don't know how the PS 2 port did it without those actually…), and being the least liked from what I heard, but it's a shame it's the only route left aside.

I can't remember anyone ever saying they prefer Fate over HF. It's usually a contest between HF and UBW for favorite route, which is understandable since they're basically opposing ideologies.
You don't need the sex scenes to be explicit to get the same narrative effect.

Not really, HF is something of a popular target for mocking and derision in the fandom. UBW and Fate get much better reception.
The people who hate it tend to like UBW more. Just because it's a popular target for derision doesn't mean that the question isn't between UBW and HF. It's basically Love It or Hate It.
More people think Fate is just kind of okay, not outstanding. If you hate HF that makes Fate better by default, but it doesn't make it good either.
This contradicts what I wrote earlier which tells you the sort of person I am.

I like HF the best, but that's because I felt Caster was boring and dragged down UBW, and I feel that HF had the most tension from the start. I still like all 3 routes though.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFmGNqji4u0The main problems with HF as a stand alone route are that Saber and Gilgamesh are both tossed aside very early and get no resolution whatsoever. The main complaint I see leveraged against it is that it has too many slice of life scenes in the middle.
Edit: and that people don't really like Sakura as a person. Personally I feel like those complaints are missing the point of the story.

I thought that stuff was fine for the most part. F/SN is more about the characters than the action. Though I do like Dark Sakura more than regular Sakura, I think I just find her voice annoying.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFmGNqji4u0I played without voices so maybe that's a reason. It would be pretty funny if people who played with voices had measurably different opinions on the characters.
HF has a bit of a broken base. A lot of people like it, a lot of people hate it. All three routes have plenty of fans, though.
Clarste: Most people I've seen that don't like Sakura don't like her as a character/story device either.

I think the voices do add more, especially for glorious Kotomine. And Kamiya did an amazing job as Shinji.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFmGNqji4u0Kotomine's exposition would certainly be hard to stay awake through if not for Jōji Nakata.
I feel like his voice would put me to sleep. Not because it's boring, but because it's so authoritative that it's relaxing. Like good background music.
F/SN is one of the few works that made me really appreciate voice acting. They add stupendously well to the characterization. The idea the original VN was released without them is unthinkable to me. I am certainly glad they are all returning.

If they replace someone, it would sound weird to me.
I found the voice acting annoying and distracting. I installed the patch or whatever that someone made, but removed them immediately, which involved reinstalling the entire game. I don't mind the actors themselves, but the presence of them at all bugged me to no end. I think there's way too much narration between voiced lines so they jump out at me and ruin the pacing, or something.

I certainly don't recommend cherry picking favorite scenes or whatever. You'd have to change the story significantly to encompass everyone's full character arcs into one story. But I don't see that as a problem, just a challenge.
It should be less a "how do we adapt the VN?" and more "how do we tell this story as an anime?"
