The CC for Mass Effect are a little lacking, If you aren't willing to settle for some options.
I'm willing to settle on some. Not on the whole damn thing. :P
You can always boot up the save editor for 2, and set some flags to make the game work like a 1 import.
How does the comic lock you out of the golden ending?
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."You can't have the loyalty of all 12 squadmates and keep everyone alive(only half of the overall squad will survive), you can't save the entire Normany crew and upgrade the Normany completely before going into the Suicide Mission(It's made an either or so you lose half your squad or lose every member of the Normandy crew when you can fully upgrade the Normandy and then save the entire crew if you're playing the actual game).
Well, that's not complete bullshit or anything...
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."That's not true. I had only ME 2 and kept everyone alive, crew included
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Correct, if you have Mass Effect 2 then you never need to play the Genesis 2 comic when you start a non-import save of Mass Effect 3.
However, if you start with ME2 Wrex is always dead, right ?
Worldbuilding is fun, writing is a choreIf you start with Mass Effect 2, then you can choose if Wrex lives with the first Genesis comic.
Or maybe it's in the default, Genesis-less ME2 start that Wrex is always dead. I just realized I don't have Genesis : it's not included in the PC Mass Effect Trilogy, right ?
Worldbuilding is fun, writing is a choreGenesis is DLC, it only plays if you have bought it.

Is there a particular reason as to why the bad options(Wrex dead, Rachni Queen dead, etc) are chosen by default?
I think ostensibly because you aren't supposed to know if they are good or bad at the time. In the long run that is one of the weakest elements of the series choice system, straight paragon, making friends and sparing enemies is the only way to get the absolute Golden Ending.
It's an incentive to buy the first game (or the Genesis DLC).
Worldbuilding is fun, writing is a choreYeah, Jade Empire was like that except WAY worse with the whole good choices/bad choices.
You gotta start somewhere. The series is throughly idealistic, of course the cynic approach wouldn't really be optimal.
Sure its fun being a Renegade through and through (I'm actually doing another ME 1 playthrough as a pure Renegade Engineer to get those trophies) but in the long run it sucks and sure you can get Intimidate options that do the same as Charm options but you can end up being a prick to Tali and that just feels terrible.
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowI love being a prick to Tali.
Watch it. Other people here want you to put your prick IN Tali.

I just had a (rather specific) idea for Andromeda that I'd like to share with you.
So, I believe we'll be going on a ship to the Andromeda galaxy, yes? A sort of ark that could function as the new Citadel?
What if the plan is for everyone on the ark to be put into suspended animation for the lengthy amount of time needed to get there? If that was the case, then something would need to be developed to help guide the ship to its destination - something like an AI (V Is being seen as too limited for such a task). Obviously against Council law, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
I'm envisioning an AI - or rather a group of A.I.s - based on Asari religion. More spefically, the goddess Athame and her guides Janiri and Lucen. Seeing how the legends have Janiri teaching the asari agriculture, Lucen teaching them about the stars, and Athame teaching them mathematics and medicine, maybe they could have a Lucen AI for navigation, a Janiri AI for sustenance and maintaining food stores, and an Athame A.I. for life support and defense systems. Collectively, they could be known as "Trinity".
Sorry for the rambling, but it's just something I wanted to get off my chest. Thoughts?

Oh God! Natural light!I don't see why VIs would be too limited for this. If anything, AIs could be seen as too unstable for the task.
Worldbuilding is fun, writing is a choreRenegade 4 Life.
Although a lot of the ME 1 Renegade Choices are very stupid and immature.
That's strange for you to admit.
Yes it would.
But I didn't know about it until I had already invested about a third of my points into Renegade, so I decided to wait as long as possible to build up morality on one side. :P
