Special Forces, a Cold War spec ops historical RP IC/Signup thread

• Name: Major Maciek Bielska
• Appearance: Dark-brown hair, gray eyes, thin but athletic build.
• Nationality: Polish
• Faction: Zaslon
• History: a fifteen-year veteran of the Polish People's Army, serving as a sapper in the 5th Podhale Rifles light infantry division, and seconded to Zaslon by his regimental colonel in recognition of his merits (and certainly not because said colonel thought it'd be a good way to mess with the Russians). GZI-WP reports that Major Bielska is fiercely patriotic and staunchly ideological, and after extensive investigation has exonerated Bielska of the rumors that he helped to hide a woman from the secret police after the events of the 1970 protests. (The GZI-WP snitch assigned to his command group is rumored to be an ingenuous drunk, but ideologically reliable.)
• Skills: Bielska is a skilled light-infantryman and sapper, with extensive knowledge of explosives and antitank weapons. He speaks fluent Polish, German, and Russian. Unofficially, Bielska has also attended the underground Flying University courses to pick up a smattering of other, mostly civilian skills and interests—which he conceals from his colleagues.
• Last Known Assignment: Then-Captain Bielska was cross-attached to the Polish 2nd Army in the 1968 invasion of Czechoslovakia, which was mostly unopposed.
