Oh no...

Oh dear...

Half of them sound POTENTIALL good, half sound really bad.

And this causes all the more panic for me and my Oz-based book I've been writing for awhile now...

Oh dear...

I'm a critical person but I'm a nice guy when you get to know me. Now, I should be writing.

Wow. This is kind of surreal.

When I saw the one called Emerald City, I knew it was gonna be NBC. Expect that one to suck.

The last hurrah? Nah, I'd do it again.

They're all gonna suck, if they even get made. You can't do Oz in live action on a TV show's budget.

Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the Great

Land of Oz, Dorothy Must Die and Red Brick Road sound like they have potential. Warriors of Oz and Dorothy sound awful. Emerald City I'm not sure about.

[up]Once Upon A Time manages pretty well. Yes, it's jumped the mermaid but that's the writing department's fault.

Jumped the mermaid? Is that a new form of Jumping the Shark or a reference to Ariel being in the show for a little while?

Dorothy is an Oz-based medical drama? Set in a world where death isn't a thing. The tension, you can cut it with a knife. Okay, but seriously, that is just a bizarre concept.

Emerald City is apparently a re-imagining of Oz in the style of Game of Thrones. Um...no. Yeah, Oz can get really weird and creepy, but it's not the right type of setting for that. Of course, it's probably going to be a completely unrelated setting that happens to have the Emerald City as the capital and that happens to be called Oz.

Red Brick Road apparently has the same idea, but it's working off the Red Brick Road that's visible in the 1939 movie. Okay, that has potential. Who's making it...Lifetime? Okay...

Not Three Laws compliant.

I think I'd be more interested in Wonderland meets Go T than Oz meets Got. You could have a really nice dark an surreal atmosphere and political plays in world where nothing is ever what it seems.

[up]Though, Wonderland has a bit less lore to work off of; Oz has... what? 20 something books? Though, considering how many adaptations forget that there was even a single sequel, let alone how inconsistent those sequels could be at times (I've gone out of my way to make it so they're non-canon in my own story for consistency, rarity of the books, and etc.), I doubt the creators have read them and will instead create their own laws and etc.

The issue with Oz is that, if you want to stay consistent to the original, the political stuff is better suited for a movie since its very simple. If you decide to go back in terms of the canon, then we all know where the pieces fall so its redundant in a way.

Only way I can see it working is if it was similar to the book I'm writing and be something like a combo between Once and GOT, rather than purely Oz.

Dorothy Must Die is a fairly decent book from what I've read of it so far, but I think they'd be better off just making a movie of it.

Dorothy just sounds bizarre and idiotic. Dorothy Must Die I'd watch though, same with Red Brick Road. But why the obsession with Oz all of a sudden? Even Sy Fy is getting back in the game even though they already have Tin Man.

Of every possible setting to base your Game of Thrones ripoff on, why the hell did everyone choose Oz? At the same time? Why?

I bet we'll see a lot of Alice in Wonderland adaptations too.

The Protomen enhanced my life.
