Well whoever decides to end it can do as they please. The next fort we have the option to just retire the fort and have it still exist once we reach a certain point.
Also the new starter pack is great. It allows us to use whatever graphics we want, has dwarf therapist and df hack built in and is actively looked after.

Indeed. It's ice cream . . . but instead of chocolate syrup it's drizzled with blood and instead of sprinkles it's got pieces of brain. You're earning it for dying, you can't expect it to be normal after all.

Have the assorted utilities caught up? Those help keep the fort running longer.
An update with some more bugfixes was just launched off on the 25th and it looks like a bug fix update is upcoming. There are a lot of bug fix logs Toady has put up in the past few days.

We might do well to hold off until the patches slow down or stop. Never telling what the game will be when he settles back down.
We could just run it for another year or so, and fail to raise the drawbridge when an attack comes. When I was around, that was the only thing that saved them.
