Now, we wait. Whether from crashes or hoping for fixes to those crashes, only time will tell.
Cooking up plans to bring fan-groups together (with a dash of class)I never was good at being patient.
"Power tastes like bacon." "I like bacon."Will the next bug-fix update be enough, do you think?
...anyone?
Cooking up plans to bring fan-groups together (with a dash of class)We'll have to see what it fixes and how long it will take to finish out the update cycle before Toady settles into the next big development phase and leaves us to the current build.
I would say that we shouldn't start a fortress until invaders stop getting horrified at the corpses of the people they kill. Though it does make for an amusing mental picture if you imagine the goblins standing over a kitten corpse screaming "Oh, Armok! What have I done!?"
Your malevolence knows no bounds. I absolutely love it – viha Kirbonium.I think it is amusing. Of course that doesn't mean every invader will be terrified of dead bodies. In some test runs they were unnerved but quickly got over it and went back to butchering.
Who watches the watchmen?Naw, but I think we need to wait til at least 40.07 if not later, because Toady's fixed the bug causing the lack of sieges, so we'll eventually see hardened invaders who don't give a shit if they just skewered seven puppies, six kittens, a chick, bunny, and goat kid and are watching two dwarven children being roasted alive . . .
No there really isn't a reason to wait that long. As long as sieges happen.
Who watches the watchmen?Sieges won't happen often at all until 40.07 comes out. That's the patch that fixed the problem. Also, 40.06 has a weird bug where everyone breeds like animals and you get armies of children. Even siegers pop out children on the field of battle . . .
....We so need a pre-patch fort just to see that happen.
Who watches the watchmen? Then download it now and get cracking.
I'm gone for a month and this happens.

"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person."Sleep walking and not using weapons during sparring have been fixed. Your sleepers will stay in bed and your sparring dwarves will use their weapons in 40.07. I hope Sleepwalking comes back as a regulated feature when the code's been worked out. That sounded like something fun for us to deal with as long as it was a trait and not spammed by everyone.
Sleep walking as a mood would be interesting or a mental condition as dwarves slowly lose it.
Who watches the watchmen?40.07 is out now, and seems to have most of the major bugs squashed.
Your malevolence knows no bounds. I absolutely love it – viha Kirbonium.Ok folks what is the state of succession game(s)? Did we want to finish this one off and start a new one?
Who watches the watchmen?Well in my opinion we should start a new one to get the best out of the new version. However lets not jump rashly, how recoverable is our situation, Have not checked in since the goblins kinda shoved us in the mine. Overall I vote for a new fort, What about you guys? Also we going to be using humans or dwarfs for the next one?
I am the archon and I will be the flame that burns away reality itself.Probably dwarfs for a little bit.
Who watches the watchmen?Well at least we can get to some good ol' Dwarfy !!FUN!! then.
I am the archon and I will be the flame that burns away reality itself.Yeah, we can do a new one. Toady got the cowardly issues taken care of, so we won't have too many bugs.
Sounds like a plan. First anyone want to to official end the fort via game play or do we want to just write that the dwarves were driven to the mines where madness, hunger, and dwarven rage wiped everyone out?
Who watches the watchmen? This is the human fort, not Jawmetal.
Fine replace dwarves with human. They pretty much behave the same sans the rampant alcoholic tendencies.
Who watches the watchmen? The ending: The mist from Waterburned finds the humans and kills them.
