I did that and got the final boss down. Wasn't too hard.

New Game Plus is fun though. How good is the scythe?

Oh really when?

I'm feeling the need to get back to this. Only just past Gascoigne in NG+. And yeah, NG+ is way harder than NG+ was in the other games. It feels like it's been balanced properly, so that it's as tough again as the first playthrough was.

If I'm honest... I don't really like it >_> I've suffered through it and overcome the challenges, now I just want to see the stuff I missed without too much trouble.

Also I don't know what to do next. Do I go to Old Yharnam the front way and make Djura hostile (even though if I remember right he's friendly if you simply go the back way later (that's right, I can't remember what I was told two pages ago, close parentheses)). Do I just go straight to Amelia? I want to clear out the Hypogean Gaol to make things easy later, but I know it's gonna be tough there. I want to do Eileen's sidequest, but I will inconsolable if she dies.

What do I doooo?

Maybe I should just do Chalice dungeons.

Chalice dungeons sounds like a good idea, they'll be a bit more challenging now.

Nope, as far as I know, they do not scale up with NG+.

Near as I can tell they don't. Which makes me sad.

New Game Plus bosses don't fuck around though, damn Cleric Beast tanked hits better than the moon.

Chalice dungeon difficulty is based on the depth of the chalice. Depth 3 is about new game plus level and 4 and 5 are harder than that IIRC.

The past is all you see, the future all you touch.

Does anyone know where I can find a full list of changes for the night-time phase?

Having beaten Martyr Logarius (the Chikage is awesome btw waii), I'm just gonna come on out and say it; he was an absolute joke.

...

(Remembers dying to him 20+ times before managing to beat him after finding out how to stop his power up phase)

Grrrrrr...

He only took me about 3-4 tries, and that was because I was forgetting to use visceral attacks. He telegraphs his moves really obviously, so he went down in a flash once I got into a groove.

The boss that is a pain imo is Ebrietas. Dang does she hit hard with those magic attacks in her second phase.

So like what exactly do the offerings in the root chalices do?

Like I know they make it harder and it gives you better bloodgems but what exactly changes?

I'm getting pissed at Ebrietas as well, bit not because of the damage (well not just because of it). It's the fact she's so big she takes up most of the screen making it impossible to see were her attacks are coming from. You can't roll past her either because of the stupid tentacles in the way, and even if you do the camera will throw a fit of you've looked onto her head.

She's just a giant mountain of pain in the ass.

I felt size was a problem with Amelia as well, but it was easier to get out of the way of her attacks for various reasons. Ebrietas is the only boss I summoned help for in my first playthrough.

[up][up]Just make it giant and you got a new Great Old One. But again HP Lovecraft took inspirations from real creatures to begin with. That's some interesting stuff, thanks!

This Old One is a type of Ribbon Worm by the yet to fall insane mortals. A species called Gorgonorhynchus.

Just remembered, I've been playing this again after a bit of a break, and I'm noticing some frame rate issues/lag now and then that I don't remember seeing before. Has anyone else been experiencing this?

Does rather put me in mind of the creature from that previous video...

I am super confused about Eileen's questline. All the wikis state she appears in the Cathedral Ward outside Oedon Chapel after you open a certain gate (it seems unclear exactly which one), and I have, I think, opened all available gates in the area, but she has not appeared. On the other hand, in ENB's walkthrough series on youtube he says she doesn't appear until nightfall, after defeating Amelia, and he did encounter her then. But on yet another hand, I was just summoned to a world and distinctly saw her phantom shape outside the chapel, and it was still evening, so now I just don't know what to think.

Anyone got any ideas? This is the only sidequest I haven't done, and I'd really like to do it in this playthrough, rather than having to wait until NG++ or starting a whole new game.

If it makes a difference, I have defeated the Blood-starved Beast and explored the Healing Church Workshop.

She appeared after I opened the gate near where you find the wooden shield (the one at the top of the stairs the two guys start walking down if you approach from the bottom) and the one slightly beyond it.

That was after defeating the BSB and exploring the workshop to reach the other side.

[up] This being NG+, it was easy to get 10,000 echoes to buy the key to unlock the big gate, so I did that and ended up opening the Plank Shield gate on my first visit there, without having to go through the Workshop. It was after that I cleared Old Yharnam and the Workshop.

Is it me, or does equipping a weapon with a fire gem seem to make it do less damage (I equipped a crescent fire gem on my Holy Sword after unlocking the third slot, at it seems to be doing less damage to the mobs in the forest)?

Might be your build. Fire gems switch the damage to fire which scales off arcane. If your weapon's arcane scaling and your stats are bad you'll have a bad time. Plus there's the baddie's fire defense to take into account.

I think.
