As far as I know, agreed. The deal must not come at a cost benefiting Zaslav's reign.

He screwed WBD big time, and he can't screw Paramount too.

WB just had a merger last year. What exactly are they thinking trying to do another one now?

The FTC has more teeth in it now - they blocked the Penguin/Simon and Schuster merger not long ago - and there are several things that would never pass the new merger guidelines they just released (one company would have to divest from HBO or Showtime, or Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon - it's too much of a monopoly that way). So, thankfully, there is hope for us and for the average Hollywood worker.

(If anyone does buy Paramount it shouldn't be another movie studio.)

Kinda funny given Warner Bros used to own Nickelodeon in the late 1970s to mid-1980s.

Yeah but those are filled with... um... Values Dissonance... HARDER Values Dissonance.

I'm actually really excited for this. For one thing, based on the premise it sounds like it's pretty much an American "battle shonen" (think Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto, that sort of thing), a genre sorely underrepresented in Western animation. For another, the episodes are supposed to be 22 minutes long, which represents a break from the two-eleven-minute-shorts format that the network tends to favor.

That said, I wonder if this show might end up premiering on Adult Swim instead of Cartoon Network proper. If My Adventures With Superman and Unicorn: Warriors Eternal are any indication, Cartoon Network currently seems to think its action/adventure cartoons do better when they're aimed at adults than when they're aimed at children.

Doesn't really matter to me. They are influential for a reason, and an homage or two to them is no big deal.

I know, Kinnikuman and Tiger Mask were awesome and they are the very thing Known Unknown was mentioning. I was warning them about the Values Dissonance. And if they want they can check out the new Kinnikuman remake. It will most certainly get rid of the more unsavory elements.
