I'm giving cartoon network 5 years to clean up there act. If not, I'm waiting for the slew of upcoming actions cartoons from various channels get released.

MIA5 years? By then, they'll probably have an entirely new slate. None of the shows they have on right now are going to last that long, not even ultra-popular ones like Teen Titans Go and The Amazing World of Gumball.
Think about it; Regular Show clung onto life for eight years, and by cartoon standards that makes it a centenarian. It was't killed off in an act of sabotage by the network the way so many conspiracy theorists believe, it simply died of old age. TTG and Gumball are both already on their fifth seasons, and are starting to decline in ratings. They might be high and mighty now, but their slice of humble pie is inevitable. I give them both one, maybe two more seasons.
What could take their place? OK! KO, Let's Be Heroes! is one possibility, since they're heavily promoting it on the internet and it seems to have the same sort of madcap zany comedy that the network's other successful shows share. So is Summer Camp Island, which is due out next year. We don't know quite as much about it, but according to Wikipedia it's an offbeat little fantasy series set at a "surreal summer camp."
I can't believe Adventure Time is ending. I haven't kept up with it in years, but I grieved a little when I found out. It was one of those things that seemed like it was going to last forever.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?goods things must to come to end. if not, you might end up getting seasonal rot as a side effect.

MIAWould've been fine with a Ed, Edd, n Eddy type hiatus...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.The show was going downhill in Season 5 and Season 6 anyways, the rot was already happening.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I was already kind of expecting it to end even before I heard the news for two big reasons. As I said before, it's gone on for eight seasons, which makes it downright ancient by cartoon standards. The other thing is, a story-driven series like Adventure Time can't go on forever— once the story ends, so does the whole show. Speaking of which, Rebecca Sugar has said that she has big plans for the fifth season of Steven Universe and will be "shooting for the moon" with it. If THAT doesn't sound like the buildup to a finale, I don't know what does.
I suppose we should count our blessings. At the very least, these series are ending on their creator's terms, not the network's. If the network executives wanted to, after all, they could just end these shows without resolving anything, the way they did with Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice.
Over and above having gone on for 8 seasons, it's had something like 260 episodes. Not sure if that's individual 15 minute segments, or complete half hours, but in either case its impressive in an industry where a show is lucky to get 65 episodes.
20 years ago today marks the beginning of a historic week for Cartoon Network.
Not only did that week see the premiere of Johnny Bravo and Cow And Chicken but the debut of the Cartoon Cartoon name, and of the beginnings of the Powerhouse look that would come to define the network at its zenith. In this week, as you can see, Cartoon Network arguably truly came into its own.
And what's Cartoon Network doing to celebrate any of these events?...
Nothing at all. Those are the indignities, folks.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."
The golden age of many millennials childhoods.
I'd hardly call this an indignity. Eyeroll worthy but not an indignity.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Well...there's nothing stopping us from celebrating this milestone ourselves, at least.

"Lucian, don’t be afraid, we’ll make it through this."It was arguably a far bigger indignity not to give any notice to the 20-year anniversary of Dexters Laboratory last year. Like, it was one of CN's most popular shows. It was popular enough they gave it a VHS release, for Chrissakes. But nothing.
Still, why not at least a word of some sort? A Facebook or Twitter post, even?
Nothing stopping us from doing the monkey or having some pork butts and taters. (Or hitting on women or buttwalking if you want to be daring.)

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Yeah, like, no minor announcement is kind of annoying, I'll agree there.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Aldo, Be glad that they havent tried to reboot Dexter or something like that. The past is nice, but its in the past you see.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Unless you count season three and four as a reboot to Dexter's Laboratory, cause then Cartoon Network has been doing shitty reboots to their properties waaaaay before Powerpuff Girls.
I know I considered those last two seasons as a reboot. It hardly resembles the first two seasons in formatting and humor. And would you believe the creator of The Loud House was responsible for those seasons?
Well at least Johnny Bravo can do reboots right what with its second and third season. To me, the show got funnier with that retool.
Then an even shittier reboot. With memes and twerking and so on. Do you REALLY want that Aldo?
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I don't think that's what Aldo was saying.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? That's cause to celebrate!
x3 But with if the reboot has it's original creator back? Which is a possibility considering the last Cartoon Network reboot (okay continuation) ended up being well received and CN want to exploit that chance of success.
. . . Let's get Tartovsky to do a season five of Dexter's Laboratory! If it worked with Jack, it will definitely work with Dexter . . . . . holy shit I just now realize Naughty Dog stole the name Jak and Daxster from Genndy Tartovsky!
Uh...pretty sure Jak and Daxster came before Tartakovsky.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Wrongo friend. Dexter's Laboratory came out in the 90s. Samurai Jack came out in 2001 (I think in the fall). Jak & Daxter came out in Christmas of 2001. So yeah those games came out after Tartatovsky created his two greatest works.
But hey Crash Bandicoot did came out before both Jack and Dexter so we could say Naughty Dogg is before Genndy Tartakovsky.

Yes but the game was probably in development before then. Accusing them of ripping it off is kind of crude to say.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?If I ever say I want modern Cartoon Network to make a Dexters Laboratory reboot, that'll be your tipoff that I've been replaced by an alien.
But, in any case, the last two seasons of Dexters Laboratory were not a reboot, but rather a continuation - they came pretty quickly after the original show and clearly made to give more life to a popular show rather than revive an old property to milk it all over again.
Similarly Johnny Bravo didn't undergo a reboot, but a retool. It was fairly clear that something in the first season didn't click with audiences. Cow And Chicken was clearly the big hit out of the two shows that debuted this week.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."
That seems like the set up for many, many jokes.
Wake me up at your own risk.
