First off, I didn't even KNOW Heavy Metal was still a viable franchise. The movie's lost it's cult appeal not that it's widely available and the sorts of things it provided are easier to find. The sequel was hated. The magazine is still fairly obscure. The last two attempts to revive it never got off the ground, even Robert Rodriguez couldn't save it.

And now, Syfy's going to give it a shot. They've given this thing not a lot of advertising. I had to hear about it from Jhonen Vasquez's Twitter feed: https://twitter.com/JhonenV/status/458792554494836737 and he's stunned at how bad it looks.

Here's the preview:

... "Coming to Syfy"? It premiered on the network last week...

I didn't watch it. Doesn't look like it appeals to me(though, looking at the cast list, I think I'll find the second episode online and give it a shot). Just figured I'd let you know...

Haven't watched it but plan to. Was absolutely addicted to the magazine in the 70s and 80s and loved the movie despite the meh ending.
