Alright, I posted. I guess it makes sense to have a conversation if Al and Ghatz are just walking n' stuff. EXPOSITION TIME!

Atlas

A former group of 7 colonies that once belonged to the three great nations: Vale, Vacuo, and Mistral. However, during the Faunus Rights Revolution, while the other nations were distracted and focused on Menagerie, the various colonies saw their chance to break free and declared independence. A loose confederation formed, taking advantage of their isolation and momentary lack of repercussions to seize control of the means of production and government, preparing themselves for future attempts to reclaim the area. This marked the birth of the fourth great nation, Atlas.

The mistrust between Vacuo, Vale, and Mistral worked to their advantage, as none of the nations were willing to commit large enough forces to Atlas and risk their neighbor invading, and the idea of fighting another bloody war against people instead of Grimm, so soon after the Faunus War, was unpopular with the public and considered political suicide.

Provinces of Atlas:

'e denotes a Province 'ie denotes a Capital (pronounced "-yeh")

Autrior'e

  • A war-torn land that was once a center of industry, responsible for the majority of the nation's weapon production, before Vale started to shift its contracts to Vacuo, Mistral, and itself. This left Autrior, which had long ago destroyed their agricultural infrastructure for more industry, to be devastated when their trading partners pulled out. Left with nothing but the means of producing weapons, the land began to turn into a warzone, where dozens of factions competed for power and resources. To combat this chaos, the Province elected a leader, Chaolais Kilango, to return their country back to its golden age. Instead, he propagated the civil war, even running propaganda In a short span of time, their government reverted, and society became a sort of modernized feudalism.
  • Capital: Autrior'e has no distinct capital. The township of Kunshu serves as their government center.

Barsol'e

  • For most of recorded history, it was uninhabited due to the Grimm running wild, and mankind being unwilling to bother recapturing it, to the point that the area was so badly damaged that nothing could flourish. But during the Industrial Revolution, the desire for metal outweighed the value of human life, which lead to massive attempts to reclaim the area and revive it. Using dust en masse to clear out large swathes of land, Mistral establlished a metalworking industry there, with each city serving as a concentrated point of society scattered along the barren wastes. Most of the population is working-class at best, and the overwhelming majority of the province's economy is focused on the mining, smelting, and refining of metals, which are then exported to Vale and elsewhere.
Capital: Smerte'ie

Zahir'e

  • Originally settled by Vale to grow rhubarb, Zahir'e gradually became the agricultural center of Atlas during the colonial period, and established itself as one of its economic powerhouses after gaining independence. It is also notorious, however, for the production of plants and materials used in the creation of Dust based drugs.
  • Capital: Sato'ie

Singwa'e

  • Once a Religious mecca for all who believed in honest work and goodness of heart, the Grand Temple of Singwa has since led a crusade against all of its inhabitants, forcibly converting them to their own religion, Sunilim, and taking over the rudimentary government, forcing it into a totalitarian state. Since the war, the Singwans have been systematically brainwashed to not speak in contrary to the state, on pain of death or worse, while having total devotion to their ruler. Its key location along several rivers (including the Jo-Ngil River, the biggest river in the world) cutting through the heart of the continent of Atlas, causes the "Foreigner Paths" - province-wide and well-guarded pipelines, railways, and riverboats that transport goods between the other provinces of Atlas - to generate enough income and trade to sustain themselves. Despite being a few decades behind the other provinces, technology-wise, they are a martial culture and every last citizen is willing to fight to the death to defend their homeland, highly dissuading the idea of invasion attempts. They are one of the few major military powers of Atlas, and the threat they pose to the other nations causes the other provinces to tolerate their antics.
  • Capital: Isonto'ie

Bogat'e

  • Bogat'e is the center of trade and wealth in all of Atlas. It is near rich deposits of pure Dust, other assorted necessary minerals, and the host city of many trading guilds that moved to Atlas during the Faunus Rights Revolution. These guilds generally abuse their fauni workers, but this is not always the case. Its is a landlocked region, and relies on its long-standing convoluted trade agreements and vast supplies of raw material to continue existing as a separate area.
  • Capital: Umcebo'ie

Mnara'e

  • Mnara'e is the center of the vehicle industry in Atlas and for transporting a lot of outside goods to Atlas, this is mainly due to its location near the sea, which has caused its cultural melting pot, as well as making it usually the first province affected as a result of any wars over Atlas. The province is one of the only "tourist friendly" regions, as the government of Mnara'e is actually half-way competent. Due to the proximity to the sea, many types of fish-fauni live there, and in the grasslands encompassing this region, many fox and fox fauni live, the foxes are usually hunted for sport.
  • Capital:Namal'ashir'ie.

Siena'e

  • A wintry area near Mnara'e, it is a mountainous province with snow capped peaks and a love of dogs. The Sienans are a hardy people, often compared to the dogs they live with. Many types of dog fauni live here, and are treated rather nicely. It is a Sienan belief that marriage with a dog faunus brings good luck and prosperity, a belief generally held by the poorer folk. A large sea-wall made of eroded mountain tops protects it from the harsh seas near it, harsh seas which become calmer the closer one gets to Mnara. As the result of a few too many military engagements gone wrong, the province's capital,
  • Capital: Bnel'ie. It is currently divided, a prize to the victors—that is, the rest of Remnant. Divided by 3 spokes radiating from the center of the city, Bnel'ie consists of the Valetian, Vacuan, and Menagerian sectors. While tension exists between them, a combination of apathy and forgetfulness keeps conflict from ever escalating beyond the occasional tariff.

NPC

Name: Professor Wayland

Gender: Male

Age: 36

Race: Human

Appearance: A muscular man, around 2.2 meters tall. His skin is a dark brown, permanently stained black in some places from oil or soot. His eyes are a piercing grey, usually masked by a set of rectangular glasses. His standard outfit when teaching consists of a smart officer’s suit, colored a shade of steel-blue, a white undershirt, a pair of light grey slacks, and some black dress shoes. While smithing however, he rids himself of the shirt and suit, and instead simply wears a smith’s apron over a pair of workmen's jeans.

Imagine a taller, more muscular Idris Elba. That’ll do.

Weapons and Equipment: Kagutsuchi. A smith's hammer, that can expand into a much larger, superheated, rocket propelled form. Usually used for beating metal into submission. Its expanded form can take out non-boss level grimm in a swing.

Mimir. A pair of glasses that can turn into a welding mask. Can detect impurities in metal and temperature and project them onto a heads up display. The welding mask is especially cooled.

Semblance: None, but some believe his impressive strength is due to a more passive semblance. Attempts to forcibly unlock his Aura have failed.

Personality: He has two distinct personalities. The one he shows while teaching or in battle, and the one he shows while smithing. While smithing, he is a stalwart silent man, whose only words tend to be one syllable in length. Excessive talking will lead him to forcibly from his room. However, outside of the forge he is an amicable man, often giving advice that might not make complete sense to someone from Vale. He usually explains himself afterwards.

Bio: Professor Morgan Wayland is a refugee of the Atlan province of Autrior'e. He escaped from one of the many feudal estates within to Vale, where he made a name for himself as an accomplished smith. Rumor has it he is being hunted by nobles from Autrior for killing his former lord. After a few years of working in Vale, Morgan met Ozpin, and agreed to work in Beacon as a metallurgy, smithing, and weaponcrafting professor. He agreed to do this for extended protection and the ability to teach others his craft.

@Insano, I don't recall saying Glen was attacking the Taijitu's Black Head. Hell, I'm pretty sure I explicitly stated that he was attacking "the rather angry looking Snake". Now, I may be wrong but I'm fairly certain that corpses are incapable of displaying emotions. Glen isn't exactly the smartest guy at Beacon, but he's smart enough to tell when something's dead or not. I'm willing to put up with a little bit of railroading as long as it moves the plot along, but this is just bullshit dude. I was willing to overlook you forcing Alice and Glen to bump into eachother, because that was moving the plot forward. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm not gonna stick around if you keep this up.

I think we got the classic setup for a heist movie team. Chloe's the face, Alfred's the brains, Ghatz is the muscle and Hiiro's the expert.

If they were not hunters they could totally make a killing as bank robbers who hate each other's guts.

Yet another bit of upsetting news.

My mother has grown rather suspicious of this website, so I may use to suspend my operations here indefinately. And we aren't necessarily a germaphobe's paradise, so if my mother sees this website, she will undoubtably disable me from entering it.

Due to this, I might have to drop out of the RP. I really wished it hadn't come to this, but she just doesn't trust me talking to people I don't know on the Internet.

So yeah. Sorry about that.

Why did Ghatz thank Alfred?

I thought it was obvious when he said he wouldn't take Ghatz's bullshit kill-seeking that he implied he is also going to fight.

Alright, I'd like to suggest some ideas for missions which you can feel free to use, ignore, or rework. Having the same missions as Beacon 1 doesn't seem like it would be entertaining for anyone involved here, and I know it's hard to try and come up with different things, so I'm just throwing things against the wall to see what sticks. Also, considering we're more of a regular-Joe cast than the cast of Beacon 1, and have far less of an existing tangled web of connections when it comes to NPCs, it would be fun to really play around with focusing on our characters and how they react to the world at large, instead of having them be bystanders to squabbles between a few families.

  • 21 Dust Street
    • The students from Beacon go undercover at a normal college/highschool in order to discover the source of a new synthetic dust-based drug that's just hit the scene, and is likely to soon spread to more schools and create a serious problem. Will they be able to find the source in time, in a school where anyone could be a suspect? The runs deeper than anyone could have possibly imagined, and threatens the future of Vale's youths if the drug's production is not stopped.
  • A Taste of Power
    • When a war between two rival gangs in Zahir'e causes the production of Ozpin's favorite coffee brand to grind (ha) to a halt, withdrawal drives him to the point where he runs away to the remote village where the beans were grown. It's up to the students to retrieve their headmaster - and enough coffee to keep him sane for the rest of their academic careers. All while Glynda is in pursuit. Only Solus knows if they can get to him before she does.
  • Tooken
    • Alice, the cheerful high princess of Vale (In this AU, at least. Unless we're going to go through the exact same plotsad from Beacon 1 in this game, Alexia's profile is probably going to have to be adjusted given her existence, or else Alice will have to never exist), and Alexia's big sister, decides to take her and her fellow students on a trip to [French-themed-area-of-Vale]. But only hours into the trip, Alice is kidnapped by the White Fang, leaving it up to the students to carve a path of destruction investigation all across the city as they chase down every lead and clue in order to find her.
  • Escape from Singwa'e
    • When escorting an airship on a routine trade assignment to Atlas, the ship's navigation system is taken over by a virus of unknown origin, that crash lands them in the heart of Singwa'e. Now, in a land where outsiders risk being shot on site - at best - they have to survive, escape, and return home.
  • The Last of the Hunters
    • Why train hunters, when you can build them? That's what Omni Dust Products thinks, at least, and their newest Robohunter models aim to prove that. For the final stage of testing before they get more funding from the government and go into mass production, the models require live-fire testing with actual hunter teams of all skill levels. The teams have to face off against teams of robotic enemies to prove that what they lack in immortal robot bodies that feel no pain or fear, they make up for with heart.
  • Railroaded
    • On a leisurely school trip through the country, a train gets taken over by White Fang terrorists. Making it take a fork in the tracks that causes it to head towards an important Schnee dust mine, they plan to detonate all of the dust on the train and completely destroy the mine. Which they were kind enough to announce on television - as they swept the camera over the passenger cart, with dozens of civilians being held hostage. They claim they're to be released at the point of no return, where the destruction of the mine is guaranteed even should the government attempt to derail the train, but no one knows if they can take their word for it. Meanwhile, plans are already in motion to shoot the train out before it can reach said point, as the loss of a dust mine far outweighs the loss of 'only' a hundred men and women. Now it's up to the students stuck in the back cart to save the day - and their own lives.
  • Three Days of the Chupacabra
    • Some... thing has been killing goats at night in a remote farming village. And now it has finally moved on to people. What should be a routine monster smash winds up revealing more and more layers as they dig deeper. Foreign intrigue, corporate espionage, and every felony known to man. How far does the conspiracy go, and how many people are going to die to keep it under wraps? Does the Chupacabra even exist?
  • Holy Shit It's a Grimm!
    • The students actually fight a grimm. But only briefly, because that'll get old. Then they find a treasure map in its lair and have fun.
  • Chaos Dunk
    • Due to Ozpin's mismanagement, he accidentally sends the School's Combat-Basketball team to the far side of Mistral, when it was supposed to be a home game. Desperate for players, he recruits the only four teams of hunters who haven't been sent away on an assignment, and makes them play in their stead.
