Well it's only natural. Serena was never taught about anything beyond dueling for glorious Academia. She had to see with her own eyes how Academia acts. So she misses something completely obvious.

Indeed. She's really one of the most naive characters in the whole series when you think about it.

All of serena's onscreen duels have been rigged if you think about it.

Dennis held back, Reiji sent everyvody left alive in the royale to help her vs the 3 Obelisk force members, and now roger is cheating for her. Come to think of it if the D wheels had a switch to turn off autopilot why didn't Crow use his to save his kid?

Serena's pretty similar to Shun, cool character concept but rather flat when you get down to it.

Hey I just realized we saw the Shivering kids Synchro counterpart this episode.

What?

It happens pretty quickly, but it's in this weeks episode. Its also out.

Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon must be happening next week.

I don't think that's actually supposed to be a Futoshi counterpart. The character seems to be female (and as far as we know counterparts can't be opposite gender,) and older then Futoshi (it's hard to tell, but I think she's taller.) I think it was just the animators (or whoever is in charge of these things,) having fun. Sorry if I'm being too serious.

Duel 84. AND ACTION!

• Yuugo's such a fun dork.
• Roger loves butting in. Quit giving me more reasons to punch your smug face in. ...Wait, keep it up. Your fall will be so fantastic.
• Yuugo and Yuuya synchronize once again. Is Serena done for?
• Also, new Moonlights is appreciated.

New episode summaries are out:

• 85 is obviously the conclusion of Serena vs. Yugo, and I don't think anyone's wondering how that's going to turn out...
• ...since 86 sounds like it's going to be a lot like 83 was, just replace Yuzu with Serena and Sora with Reira.
• 87 and 88 are taken up with Yuya vs. Crow. The summary mentions Yuya suddenly getting more aggressive mid-duel and using Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon again for the first time since his duel with Reiji, so it's up in the air as to whether he's falling back into his "awakened" state or whatever we're calling it now, or if Roger did succeed in chipping him. Something about Sora trying to get Crow to save him, at any rate.

86 is apparently being directed by Katsumi Ono himself.

I'm going to make a quick prediction: there is a Ritual dimension and it's behind everything.

Maybe Ritual was a destroyed dimension, and Mieru is the last survivor, or even their Princess? The Last Daughter of Ritual.

Academia thinks they are fusing all souls/dimensions together but in truth it is one big Ritual sacrifice for the ritual dimension.

Also, it looks like Yugo is gonna be the next spanner in Jean's carefully laid plans.

I love it. Though I'm looking forward to when Academia shows up and just wrecks everything and makes all this Xanatos Speed Chess meaningless.

Episode 85:

Oh shit! I don't think Yugo is gonna make it to his next match. Or rather, someone with his face will make it.

Also, Reira finds his courage next week, and Yuya will flip his shit in the future.

So, next is Yuya vs Crow. Crow learned from Shun that not every Lancer is an enemy but I guess he still believes Shinji's baseless bullshit and we don't wether or not Yuya will have free will during that Duel. After that is Hugo vs Sergey, which might be interesting because he still believes Yuzu is dead.

I find it kind of odd that Yuri's dragon glowed purple when it was resonating. I know purple is his color and all, but Pendulum and Dark Rebellion both glow white. Wonder if it's just a visual thing or it implies something about his dragon.

Serena vs. Yugo part 2 was pretty good. I expected Crystal Wings to have been created during the match, but Yugo having it the entire time is good too.

Just started episode 80. The sheeple are booing Yuya for winning. >=(

I know right.

It's a funny thing: Yuya has won all his duels accept for the one with Jack, but he's not really accomplishing any of his goals.

• He hasn't been able to get to Yuzu;

• He hasn't brought smiles to anyone in the Synchro Dimension (in fact, as of this most recent duel, he's divided them further);

• He's no closer to stopping the Dimensional war then he was when he started.

Poor bastard is really being put through the ringer. And I just know this whole arc is gonna be a "Shaggy Dog" Story where he doesn't really accomplish anything at all.
