So did I.
Maybe the current system can't use as many as the one in Standard. Remember, it's the disk itself creating the action field, as opposed to a large Solid Real Vision projector, so it might not be able to do as much.
One Strip! One Strip!Duel 113. AND ACTION!
- That was the most fun Action Duel I ever saw. I wonder if Kachidoki will now do his own brand of Entertainment Dueling. He's got the moves for it.
- I couldn't help but think Shura's another high-level Fusion monster that can get taken out easily. 2400ATK can only take you so far.
Well, dang Dennis actually carded himself. On the other hand, I'm laughing pretty hard at Serena's "HEY GUYS WHAT'S UP AM I EVIL NO WHY WOULD YOU ASK THAT NOTHING TO SEE HERE" expression at the end.
Arc-V never ceases to surprise me. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad.
Dennis carding himself certainly qualifies as a 'Good' surprise.
I always got the impression there was a tinge of reluctance to Dennis's actions. He knew the things he was doing was very very wrong, but felt obligated to do them regardless. Being beaten by Kaitou and whatever Yusho said to him seemed to finally push him past the point where he could deny it anymore.
Or maybe he did it out of spite. I can't be sure until I see the translation. Whatever the case, Kaitou has come a long way in a short time. I think the Kaitou we met at the beginning of the beginning of the fusion arc would not have been trying to stop Dennis from Carding himself. In fact, he'd have done it before Dennis got a chance.
One Strip! One Strip! So the last bad guys left are the Professor and Yuri now?
There's still Barrett as far as established characters go, but there's going to be at least a few more new Academia characters showing up, like the pirate captain guy Yuya's dueling next week and the tower guardians Kaito and Yugo duel the week after. Plus it looks like the rest of Yuzu's counterparts are going to be dueling too, so there's still a few antagonists left in the stable.
- Yusho: What are doing? Not replying to this applause is rude to the audience.
- Dennis: Applauses are for the winners. This has nothing to do with me, the loser.
- Yusho: Oh well... You never actually lost.
- Yusho: This applause is for both of you. You both managed make this many people smile.
- Yusho: Your show was amazing! Come along with me. You can make many more people smile. We can overcome the Academia.
- Dennis: I can't. I'm someone who betrayed Yuya and Kurosaki. I can't just go back to being friends like that.
- Kaito: You...
- Dennis: Don't get close to me. I'll tell you where Ruri is. Where another girl, Rin, is as well.
- Asuka: Rin, that one Hugo was looking for...?
- Dennis: They are both on the top the towers. Ruri is on Academia's East Tower and Rin on the West Tower.
- Dennis: Now I can't go back to Academia either. After all, I leaked the Professor's secret intel. I'll pray that you guys manage to save them. If you meet tell him that the days we spent together as Lancers were really fun.
- Kaito: What are you-?
- Dennis: An illusion, of course. My very last Entertainment! The trick where I turn myself into a card.
Guess I was right.
One Strip! One Strip!God. Dennis is a great character.
I know right?
I think he works because while he does work for Academia, what we see of him isn't totally an act. I'd say he's more method acting. He's not Dennis Macfield, evil agent of Academia who's only pretending to be a nice guy. He's Dennis Macfield, nice friendly guy, who's also legitimately an evil agent of Academia.''
He's both, and that's why he works.

One Strip! One Strip!Yeah. When he does evil, dickish things, he's still being the friendly entertainer that he's always been while doing so. It's nice to see.
Duel 114. AND ACTION!
- And thus the curtains came down on Dennis the Coolest Menace. Letting Yuusho, Alexis and Kaito in on a trade secret truly meant there was no turning back for him.
- Oh hey, it's Serena! It's a bit surprising to see her, but it looks like she's a-oh please, I ain't that dumb. The smokes and mirrors will end in due time.
NO! DENNIS ;~~~~;
Also, gettin' back into a show I haven't watched since September.
Seems legit.
GIVE ME YOUR FACESeems like Reiji and the other lancers were able to reach the Fusion Dimension
How do you know? Is the raw already out or something?
One Strip! One Strip!A summary was released today. It mentions Yuya hearing a familiar voice, and the rest of the Lancers are listed as a part of the cast that are supposed to appear in that episode
Definitely
Caught the ep.
Wow. I did not like Duel Captain Solo. He just looks really stupid, and the eye patch that's not even covering an eye is really, really dumb. He needed his ass kicked a lot more. A lot more.
One Strip! One Strip! This episode...it just disappointed me. There was so many more interesting things they could have done. What I'd have done? Let Sawatari face-off against Captain Solo. Or Gogenzaka, or hell have both of them do it. They could both use another solid win under their belts, and they got taken out of the action in a very contrived manner.
Hell, back in the detention facility Sawatari had a pirate themed ship card - you could totally do something with him summoning that, and then have the two ships do epic nautical maneuvers against each other. Reira's Synchro monsters look like giant guns - have him tag into the duel and the Abyss Actors can use them as cannons to shoot back at the actual cannons on Solo's ship. Hell, Tsukikage can tag in and we'd have a fucking pirate ship crewed by literal ninjas! Crow can supply the parrot!
Hell, if we go for a big sprawling Tag Duel, then rather than Serena just sorta pulling Yuzu off to one side and going "ah-ha! I have her now!", have her join the duel on the side of the Lancers, and then as soon as her turn comes around, turn and start attacking them. It'd make the betrayal come off so much more dramatically rather than just.....happening.
Fuck this episode felt like a waste of so much cool stuff they could have done.
Yeah.
The whole thing was disappointing. I guess the rumours that the story is ending soon is true since they seem to be really rushing things now.
We still don't know why the professor wants to unite the worlds, or what the deal with the Yuya and his doppelgängers are.
One Strip! One Strip! You think they show's been canceled or otherwise forced to end?
Didn't someone mention it a few pages back? I'm pretty sure of it.
At the most, it was said that a new series was happening after this one.
One Strip! One Strip!
I thought there were more than that in some early duels.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.
