Wait, if Marco's male, why is he called a 'daughter' and a 'nice girl'? If he's trans then that really should be made clear.
Exist, pursued by bearNot trans... shoot, serves me well for working on too many things at a time, thanks for telling me.
The graceless warrior, wielder of the edgeless blade, prophet of the old religions, writer of fluent nonsense, saviour of soul and song.Hah, that would've been interesting, yeah? Marco looks good to me, though. We need more good guys to smack around~

"Who am I, Elisha Otis?"Don’t make the damn trigger a direct response/answer/result of the circumstances of the trigger event. I keep seeing people do this.
Look to the base effect/root at the heart of the trigger. You can let the circumstances inspire, and you should take some thematic inspiration, but if the trigger is something like ‘you were stabbed in the face’ and the power you come up with is ‘you have an armor plated face’ you’re a twit. Don’t be a twit.
Pay attention, instead, to the effect on the individual. Pain, adrenaline, a possible loss of senses, that dim fear and realization that you’ll never look the same, and people will stare… these things feed into the themes and ideas.
Also, think outside the box. Remove yourself one step from whatever you wind up with. Super strength? Throw in some variable or something to mix it up. Then possibly have it get mixed up further/inspired by the resulting disadvantages or advantages. A tip. Can’t decide what type of power might derive from a given event? Stuck between Mover and Blaster? Combine the two. You could have both (a mover and blaster power). Easy enough. Just don’t forget to make the two interesting. They could be the same power. Perhaps the mover power makes the blaster power work, like a flier who drops off homing shots in the wake of their flight trail, or a speedster who generates a personal electric/thermal charge while moving, which they have to discharge as a massive blast. Perhaps the blaster power has a mover side effect, such as a concussive blast with a massive recoil that flings the user backward.
Perhaps it alternates, or using one takes away from the other. The person might have been chased down dark and unfamiliar streets by gang members, and they might have been caught between fight and flight at the moment of the trigger. Their mover ability might drain from the same battery as the ranged attack, or perhaps they’re a breaker that can switch between two core forms, one that’s fast and helpless and one that’s offensive but largely immobile.
There are a lot of possibilities, even with the simple, ‘bland’ triggers.

I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serial... I... er... Fuck, ok that has no excuse, I read it but I went ahead and did it anyways, sorry... help please?
The graceless warrior, wielder of the edgeless blade, prophet of the old religions, writer of fluent nonsense, saviour of soul and song.Isra's powers, if they were a direct reaction, would be something like Grue's fog. Instead, her shadow is a protection from others, as that's what she wanted. It gives her control of her surroundings and environment, which were posed against her when she triggered. And it's a way to keep people from overriding her wishes.
Which are you more attached to - the trigger or the power? We can rewrite one to accommodate the other.

Exist, pursued by bearI actually forgot about that too. Oops. But I think I avoided it anyway so... yay?
"Who am I, Elisha Otis?"Even my character is a little guilty of that, TBH. It's not a deal-breaker in any case.
If you do want to change and go with that trigger, I could see some sort of mover aspect being involved as well, though the main focus would probably be changer, maybe with hints of Brute.
Anyway, I'll check out the changes made to other profiles when I get more time.
Double post for GM-y things:
- Nocturne/Isra: Accepted
- Shizo Tech/Zeke: Accepted
- John Check: Pending, waiting on an update to his power mechanics
- Eclipse/Hoshiko: Pending.
This weakness is so vague now that it's either completely crippling (nothing is ever behind anything if you take multiple perspectives into account), meaningless, or identical to her needing a destination to be out of view.
- Mechamasume/Lindsey: Accepted , although I don't remember any comments on my suggestion to make her Master abilities come from a device instead of a power.
I've also altered Pursuit a bit to make her a mercenary villain instead of a vigilante, filling out our bad guy roster a little more.

I've been wracking my brain for days for a different power explanation thingie, but i'm having trouble finding one. Partly because i'm the most cliche loving moron on the seven seas, and mostly because my brother keeps stealing my computer.

Only one, but things can get...confusing. How many Time Cops does it take to change a light bulb?mover, eh? I was thinking of adding some sort of "gets lighter as he gets hotter" mechanic to the powers.
The graceless warrior, wielder of the edgeless blade, prophet of the old religions, writer of fluent nonsense, saviour of soul and song.@gaunt: Well if she uses a device to do it, then it doesn't really qualify as a power, does it? Just something else she built.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serial@ KSPAM: yes, that's the idea. IMO, it'd make it a bit neater and avoid her having a second power on top of her tinker one.
Also, just because it's not a power doesn't mean she wouldn't be classed as a Master.
@ Conflixin: Feel free to brainstorm in the thread if you want help coming up with ideas.
I don't want to sound whiny, but do I have to? If you ask me, the idea of using a device to control the robots just makes things more complicated, not less. Also, remote control powers finally justifies why Humongous Mecha can move without the pilot actually being inside it.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialOoops. Didn't mean to screw things up. Do you want me to revert it to the original version, then?
Edit: Done.

"Who am I, Elisha Otis?"Ok I tweaked it a bit, I think I'm happy with it now.
The graceless warrior, wielder of the edgeless blade, prophet of the old religions, writer of fluent nonsense, saviour of soul and song.@ KSPAM: No, you don't, it's just a suggestion.
@ Maxyrama: Yeah, that works better.
- Eclipse/Hoshiko: Accepted
@ Sanojutsu: Hmm, one question, he can control how hot he is, but can't turn it completely off, right?
Yeah, but by default it scales and grows when he's not concentrating in it
The graceless warrior, wielder of the edgeless blade, prophet of the old religions, writer of fluent nonsense, saviour of soul and song. So, it occurs to me that powers like Marco's don't usually show up in normal triggers, if I'm remembering correctly. Off the top of my head I can't think of any that stay on constantly aside from Thinkers and passive powers like Glory Girl's force field.
Exist, pursued by bearWell, its that I got the Fool disadvantage, and I could think of three main ways of enacting it; A)Always on, B)Triggered by [insert event here] C)activating at intervals, either set or random
The graceless warrior, wielder of the edgeless blade, prophet of the old religions, writer of fluent nonsense, saviour of soul and song. So, we gonna get a tentative "start" date?
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialAh, I forgot about the Fool thing. Never mind then.
Exist, pursued by bearNomad
- Name: Marcus Karrde
- Age: 21
- Gender: Male
- Appearance: Pearly white teeth, worn in a full bore grin. A hearty looking fellow, clean shaven with wiry muscles and the beginning of a beer belly. Average height and girth, with dark hair and green eyes.
- Background: The only son of a pair of world renown dentists, school dropout extraordinaire Marcus Karrde was kicked out of his house, yet manages to make quite the good life of himself amongst the seedier underbelly of the town. First finding employment as a goto-man for the upstart villianess Lady Death's Handmaiden (who would eventually reinvent herself as Hectare and then dies in an Endbringer attacks), then moonlighting as an entertainer in a Supervillian's pub.
- Trigger event: It was a dark and stormy night in the generic township of Superherous Originicus. So, a typical Sunday night. Marcus was on the stage at the times, playing the local's favorite, a tale of a tardy devil and his opulent instrument. The Destructionator locks horn with the Huskarl following a disagreement over whose mother follow whom to whose home and other such curiosities. Eventually -around the same times the alcoholic content of the pair rises to dangerously potent level and their intelligence dipped an equivocal amount- they comes to blow. Like a spark of wildfire in a dry forest, the fight escalates into full-on capes bar brawl. So, a typical Sunday night. Less typical is the fact that, with the pub's layout, the stage is located right in the center of the establishment, and there were a totality of none-whatsoever chances of Marcus extraditing himself from lanes of fire (literally, in the cases of the Pyromeister.) What follows was pandemonium- noises, colors, and lights abound like a scene off a cheap B-rated action flicks. Like an off switch, his brain throws up its metaphorical hands, declare itself entirely sick of this shite, and he collapses bonelessly - concurrent to glancing blows of a dozen different powers.
- Waking up with a raging headaches, on the floor, atop what might (generously) be labeled industrial waste to the tune of PRT sirens -on a Monday!- proves a highly undesirable sets of circumstances.
Power generation
- Power class(es): Shaker/Stranger/Trump(/Master)
- Luck: 7
- Advantages and disadvantage
- Rolled Disadvantage: Chariot - Hobo
- Rolled Advantage: Hanged man - Blazes of Glory (Mental Limiter)
- Resultant Advantage: The (Fake) Angel - Unlock the self-imposed limiter; boosts the power by great amounts. Targets marked by the inverse of Nomad's power becomes apathetic to the world, unresponsive to stimuli, and extremely suggestible. Targets unmarked have their powers supercharged, and can experiences symptoms of hypersensitivity.
- Resultant Disadvantage: Hermit
- Resultant Disadvantage: The Devil
- Power(s): Upon activation, the area around Nomad becomes just a little bit more exaggerated, "vibrant". The grasses are greener, the birds chirppier, the colors sharper, the hearth warmer, the light brighter, and the dark - all the more sinister. Powers used in his radius - an area adjustable from the size of a broom closet to a city block- by those not designated by Nomad are amplified at the cost of control. Even mundane effects are exaggerated, through less noticeably - the senses register more prominently, for example. Additionally, Nomad can "mark" certain individuals with a mental tag to be exempted and benefits from the inverse of his power, making them "bland" - forgettable and with dulled sensations.
- (Think a buffer Trump and more versatile, if less powerful, Imp)
- Name: Nomad
- Affiliation: Rogue
- Costume: A black hoodie, shirt, jeans and balaclava. Following recent accusations of looking like a two bit mugger, he has taken to wearing a colorful ponchos and a paper mask with a Smiley face instead.
- Non-power assets and skills: Mean talents with a fiddle, incredibly reckless driver, seen as friendly or at least non-threatening among low-end villains, criminals, and other less than legel elements. Possess a backpack filled with day-to-day miscellaneous stuff, a package of 4th of July fireworks, a Taser, and a surprisingly functional ornate dagger he begged from his father on their trip to Europe.
- Post-trigger history: The rebellious wandering star of chaos that can never settles! Or some trash like that. Mostly, Marcus' life is much the same as before- working a musical gig at one pub or another when he can, or renting out his power to a group of villains or vigilantes looking to settle a big score. For now, a combination of likeability, usefulness, and irrelevance in the grand schemes of things keep him more or less in most everyone's good books- but it's a delicate balance. To be everyone's acquaintances is to be no one's friend, and all it takes is a single push to dislodge him off his fence.
@ a start date: Sorry guys, I may have been a bit ambitious getting this up when I did. I have a week-long trip and a week to get ready for that, so I probably won't be getting started for a fortnight at least.
@ Pblades: I'll have a more in-depth look at your CS when I can, but I'd like to point out that we do already have a shaker/trump power augmenter.
Ok, here it is.
Background
- Name: Marco Quintero
- Age: 20
- Gender: Male
- Appearance: A tall, wiry built, short black haired man of Hispanic accent and brown eyes, thick lipped and round faced, average bordering on lean in build, formerly in any case, he now glows hot, depending on how much heat is trapped in his body, when not his skin is of an ashen gray tint.
- Background: Born and raised in a small town in the north of California, the second son of a pair of Mexican immigrants. He had a normal life, well as normal as normal goes. He was the good child of the family, his rebellious thoughts and impulses kept in check by an older brother; nothing short of a delinquent. So he wanted to please his parents, becoming top of the class, teacher’s pet, to mass all Sunday mornings, always properly dressed, all around a nice guy. This eventually took him to college.
- Trigger event: It came to pass that he was driving back home for the Christmas break and he got involved in a nasty accident involving a number of other drivers and vehicles, as well as causing a fire to ignite and spread. When he came back to his senses he was hurting, trapped in the wreckage of twisted metal and the fire was closing in. He panicked and struggled against the metal trap he had been placed in, dreading his impending and painful demise, and further distressed and frustrated by the thoughts of his family and friends.
Power generation- Power class(es): Striker / Shifter / Brute /Mover
- Luck: 10, one Advantage, one Disadvantage in Powers
- Advantages and disadvantages:
- Disadvantage: Fool, powers can’t be controlled
- Advantage: Strength, Power is a bit stronger.
