This is confusing. Are they predicting their own destruction?

It's a Prophecy deal, meaning that they can probably try to avert it, but the narrative is basically against them, as with most prophecies. And they think the guy is the one meant to kill them, not Allison.

In fact, it might have been meant to be the guy and Zoss had to make due with Allison. We've no confirmation one way or another, and the ambiguity feels intentional. But as far as the narrative cares right now, that's irrelevant - Allison's the main character here, not some guy whose name we don't even know and who was taken captive.

Surprise Sunday update!

Not much to say on this one, but the author has stated elsewhere that within the next eight or so pages the first 'book' will conclude.

Perhaps she is meant to release the man. In any casex you are apparently following events better than I am.

Maybe. I checked out the MSPA Quest thread where the first version of the story came out and I'm kinda binging the comic's wiki and some of the author's other stuff. The author occasionally goes to /co/ and says some things there, too. Anyway, I don't think boyfriend guy is gonna feature in any particularly important way any time soon, although Allison might wanna save him at some point.

Also, it was pointed out to me that on the last page there's a hidden link◊ to another page◊. Another intriguing figure appears...

According to narrative logic, boyfriend has to return before the end of the story arc. He either becomes a hostage to the bad guys or ends up becoming an antagonist himself.

Oh, and did anyone else notice she seems to have developed super strength? When did that happen?

It could be that she was just really angry or it was a soft wall. Putting your fist through a wall doesn't necessarily indicate that you have super strength.

Maybe, but that didn't seem like a real high-powered punch to me. Just a basic pound on the wall with more strength than she expected. I dunno, I guess we'll find out sooner or later.
