"Today at the Walt Disney Company’s annual shareholders meeting, Disney CEO Bob Iger ran through their upcoming slate of movies for the next few years. After barreling through live-action films, Iger turned to Pixar making some surprising announcements.

New sequels to “Cars” and “The Incredibles” are in the works at Pixar. No further details were given, other than to say director Brad Bird is back for “The Incredibles 2″ and “Cars 3″ is also in development.

Pixar’s other upcoming films include “Inside Out,” “The Good Dinosaur,” and “Finding Dory."

Other than Cars 3 (also known as Why God Why), this all looks sweet.

Granted, comparing a new Incredibles movie (as much as people have been looking forward to it) to the second coming as Jesus is also blowing things out of proportion, but anyway...

The fact that Cars and Finding Nemo sequels are also in the works puts a damper in my enthusiasm, though. Money is the only motivating factor for continuing those stories. But I'm sure Brad Bird wouldn't sign on to an Incredibles sequel unless he's heard a good premise for it.

Aaaaaand still no love for A Bugs Life 2. Figures a film about bugs would be squashed on by the foot of Disney shareholders.

Oh well. Cautious optimism rising about I2 esp. with Brad Bird returning. No idea why Cars is getting a third sequel BY the studio, as opposed to simply shelving it to their "Toon Disney" sequel line.

I guess you gotta take the good with the bad...

...anyway: finally, the only movie people were asking for a sequel is going to get it

This just made my whole day. I'm so happy because of how much of a big Disney/Pixar fan I am.

Me, being a huge fan of The Incredibles is already being impatient about the release of the sequel. I talked to my brothers about this and they also sound thrilled. One of them said that he wants to see how Jack-Jack will work his new powers.

How old are Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack going to be if the same amount of time will have passed in the film world?

Ye gods, I hope not. Disney needs to get more comfortable with showing characters who don't marry the first person they ever date/crush on.

This is one of my all time favorite films.

Let's see, Violet was in junior high, Dash was 10, Bob and Helen were in their late-30s-early-40s, and The Incredibles came out 10 years ago. ...holy cow, ten years?!

But I can't help but worry about Pixar and there endless amounts of sequel as of lately. I don't know, I just can't help but think that is something going on.
