Glad at least the movements and exaggerated expressions of the characters still feel like the oldschool cartoons despite being in CGI.

So far, this looks like it could be a real love letter to the animated Peanuts canon. The animation looks great, and the little bits of voice acting in the trailer sound just like the specials of old. Blue Sky can really be on the ball if they try, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

Does anyone have the TV on NBC to get ready for the Thanksgiving Day Parade?

They just revealed the cast for the movie!

They're all kids! grin (Even though there was probably no doubt about that.)

Still, great news nonetheless! grin

[up]I'll find out the cast sooner or later. I knew that they were all/mostly kids anyway.

Really?!? FOX and Blue Sky?! NOT casting adult pop singers who can "supposedly act"!?!? UNHEARD OF!

[up]I pray I won't be hearing people such as Ceelo (however you spell it), rappers, Brad Pitt, or any other celebrity will be voicing the characters. 9 times out of 10 they aren't good and probably won't sound remotely like kids!

However, in these days, having an "All star cast" in films is the way to go. Money..

So, Original! Patty and Peppermint Patty are going to be in the same movie. Perhaps the former won't be outright named onscreen so it won't get confusing?

I'm kinda puzzled about Shermy's description, since in every old strip I remember him appearing in, he was pretty much a jerkass who hated Charlie Brown. From the description, shouldn't they have used the much better known and fitting Franklin for that role? I really liked Franklin, and frankly, this cast sounds alittle bit too white.

So Little Red-Haired Girl will be at the very least voiced. Hmm.

Also, after a Google search, Venus Schultheis looks like she could be a live action Peppermint Patty. Patty was my favorite character from the strip, so I approve so far.

[up][up]

I googled Venus and…yeah, she does look like she could be a live-action Peppermint Patty.

Weird. In a good way. smile

Speaking of Peppermint Patty, does anyone know where the "Peppermint" part in her name comes from? I never did get what was up with that. tongue

"I got the idea for her name after looking at a dish of candy on my desk and decided that 'Peppermint Patty' was such a great name that I just had to use it before some other cartoonist beat me to the idea."

Charles M. Schulz

Think that answers your question smile

[up]Schulz had the oddest ways of getting names for his characters, didn't he?

What's next, the idea of the character Pigsty (the kid who's constantly covered in dirt) came from someone Schulz knew who was always messy?

[up]You mean pig-pen?

Apparently "Pig-pen" wasn't even the kid's name. It was just a nickname. Weird..

Wait, minor characters like Original Patty and Shermy will appear in this, yet Rerun (who became a major character in the last decade of the strip...and is the younger of both Lucy and Linus) won't appear? I actually liked Rerun, sad he doesn't get the recognition that every other Peanuts character gets.

A lot of the peanuts characters look alike. They all have like the same 2-3 face/head structures.. I guess Schulz was a little lazy in the looks department eh?

All 3 van Pelt siblings have the same head. Charlie Brown shares a head with Sally too. Basically any younger sibling in Peanuts is going to have the same head as their older sibling(s).

I'm just glad all the voice actors are kids. Which is more than I can say for some other upcoming animated movies staring children like Home and Captain Underpants.

New-ish trailer!

I think this might be the most creative use of CGI since The Lego Movie.

The song was painful, but Snoopy's antics and seeing the whole gang made up for it.

The song didn't bug me as much as it should, but considering that Peanuts Charlie Brown and the Gang go so well with classical music I'm hoping this to be a trailer slip up thing.

The song was painful. And you know what else it was? The exact same song used in the last Peanuts trailer. I suppose hearing it a second time doesn't lesson the hurt. :D

[up][up]yep. When I think of Peanuts specials, I automatically think of lovely classical/jazz music.

the song was distracting and annoying. Then again, it's just a trailer tongue
