Interest Check: A Power Armor RP

Hello, just gauging interest in a Power Armor RP, taken/stolen from an idea thread over on /tg/

Basic Background. For an unknown reason, drop pods started falling from the sky and cratering all across the world in 2012. Upon approaching any drop pod a person would be scanned and the drop pod would open. Any brave enough to enter the drop pod would find a computer prompt asking them to choose settings for their power armor.

The World immediately goes pretty haywire considering that completely random people getting power armor and the sudden re-balance of power that comes with people getting alien tech.

Don't know how many points I plan on distributing, most likely around 200ish. Here are the sheets^note Whoops, can't post outside links yet. Go to imgur{DOT}com/a/TXHoB. There are some issues with these sheets and I need to make some clarifications, but I don't plan on writing it all out unless there is enough interest to make your suit.

RP mechanics will be casual, no real big number crunches and dice rolls but stats and circumstances will be taken into account.

How long after suit fall the RP takes place will be determined after some feedback. Willing to do anywhere from immediately before suit fall to 20 years later.

Alright. I have a basic timeline written out^note I don't plan to railroad you, I just have a rough story planned out. I fully expect you to derail any plot within three posts. So pick a year 1-20. To keep an illusion of suspense I won't tell you what has happened in any preceding years until a rough agreement(>50) is reached. Upon an agreement I will reveal any relevant information in what has happened since "Suitfall".

After that I will post the sign up thread.

I agree with 1. That lets us be the guys who learn all the cool shit in the timeline, instead of having to read up about some bastards other guys who did it before us

I would go with year one. Also, idea, instead of 200, how about 250? It would allow us a little more leeway in customization without allowing us to majorly munchkinize.

Sorry for the double-post, but I also wanted to ask what amount of focus you expect will be put on suited combat, for instance, as opposed to social interaction between the pilots?

Quick Question: Does the Size of the suit have a cost or can you get any size for free?

I think you can get any size for free. They all have the same number of stats after all and being big and tough is balanced by not being maneuverable and a big target.

Yeah I'm pretty sure those are free too, since there's no mention of cost. What I'm curious about is what the restrictions are for the utilities & upgrades. There's some that are zero, so are those supposed to be things everyone has, or are we limited to only being able to pick one or something? And the Tranquilizer Gun has no cost, so I guess it's a default weapon everyone has?

And for the Fortress, if you can hold fifteen people in your suit, is that still power armor territory?

I'd think the free things just aren't worth points since they are the basic stuff. People can be assumed to have them without reaching too far.

Yeah, my guess for things like the basic HUD and so on was that those panels are just info on what suits can be assumed to have standard.
