None. Ali Larter's not going to be in Heroes Reborn at all.

I never watched the original series. Will I still be able to understand this one?

[up][up]It's on Netflix if you need a quick binge to get the gist of things.

I watched the original series and I don't have a clue what's going on.

Claire died. How is that even possible? :p

Don't people like Claire and Adam Monroe stay dead if their brainstem is taken out?

Okay, then. Thanks for the reply.

I didn't watch the original because I wasn't interested; honestly, I'm still not. Plus, I can't afford Netflix, so...

Well, I guess my Thursday nights are still free tongue.

I'm thinking of giving this show a try, even though I didn't watch the original. Is there anything I should know?

I really, really, hope the give a good explanation for why Hiro can't just change history and stop this from happening in the first place.

Only was able to watch the first twelve minutes. Not because it's bad, but because we got a new dog just yesterday so now I missed too much of it and will have to use On Demand later. At least what I was able to see was good. Hope the rest is too.

[up][up]You have an edit button. Fucking use it.

I'm just here for Masi Oka and HRG. I should probably get around to watching volume 5 (or whatever the one after Nathan died was) one of these days

Haven't read enough Spider Man. Wasn't Flash the jerk who always bullied Peter Parker for no given reason other than being a stereotypical jock?

I'm thinking of giving this show a try, even though I didn't watch the original. Is there anything I should know?

  • If you see the weird S/DNA strand symbol, shit is important, pay attention.
  • When you see an asian man with glasses and a sword, you won't know why he's the most popular character on the show - just know that he was probably the most popular character on the show.
  • Half of the cast from the original is gone (so far) so don't worry about Continutiy Lockout.
  • Nevermind, there's some Continuity Lockout.
  • If you think somebody with powers isn't using their powers correctly, you're probably right.
  • If a list appears, read it carefully.
  • If a painting, comic book, or portrait appears, remember whatever's on it.
  • HRG is Noah's old Fan Nickname.

I really, really, hope the give a good explanation for why Hiro can't just change history and stop this from happening in the first place.

...he was trapped in a video game, wooooh!

Probably the usual Butterfly of Doom - Future Hiro had an entire room dedicated to not f'cking up his time travel attempt and he still f'cked up, kind of.

So that was interesting. The cliffhanger was kind of lame, though. In fact, all the scenes with Miko seemed completely and utterly removed from everything else...even the question of if she was an Evo or not. Was her father an Evo and he had the power of putting her into a video game? Does she have the power, but only when using the sword? The hell?

But meanwhile, Chuck is awesome, as I knew he would be. He and his wife definitely had one of the better storylines and I like that they didn't whitewash any of their crimes. HRG was good, too, although his annoying conspiracy theorist sidekick is annoying.

Rene had to die first, didn't he? Damn.

In other news: holy crap, Molly Walker grew up. I know that's not the original actress, but that sort of threw me by surprise.

...Is the sword that Miko's using actually Hiro's sword?

Anyone else hoping Luke pulls a heel-face turn and takes up the "One of us, One of them" motto?

Dark Matters makes Quentin a lot more likable of a character to me, because we get to see him go from overenthusiastic nerd to pathetic but well intentioned conspiracy theorist.

I like the potential. I think everyone's said everything that needs to be said on how utterly awful Miko's video game sequences were, though the rest of her story is pretty good if not really disconnected (much like Hiro in the original series). While I didn't like how they were going full mutant registration act this season, I like how it lets them hit the ground running rather than having to walk around the obvious issues.

On the bad side... we're doing this again, aren't we? The whole "start in an utterly baffling environment filled with plot holes disguised as mysteries littered about while being teased with answers and half truths for twelve episodes when a conveniently placed flashback episode clears everything up with very simple yet still somehow unsatisfying answers that the writers could have just given us in episode one if they weren't so determined to drag this all out for as long as physically possible" thing? Oh joy.

I hate how so many storylines are being paralleled here. Miko and Ren are doing the Hiro and Ando, Tommy's playing Claire 2.0 with 90% more generic filler high school angst that reads like the writers have not stepped foot into a physical secondary school building since the early 80s, Carlos is doing the Peter commentary on the nature of what heroism really means, HRG is HRG, Quentin is the Mohinder/Matt guy actually trying to figure things out, Chuc- er, Luke is the Skylar guy running around killing characters with much more interesting backstories than our own, etc.

Molly and Aurora Girl's plotlines look fresh, but Molly's story went in literal circles for god knows how long before ending with the "no fucking shit" reveal that, surprise surprise, the seemingly out of place girl constantly being placed between mentions of Molly Walker is actually Molly Walker.

So all in all, I'm going in for a third episode. I wanna see where the story goes, that is to say if it'll dive as far down as the series lows. Right now taking out the video game sequences the story's at about a Season 2, meh but with good potential.
