I like Occultists, but I'll always bring a Plague Doctor with Battlefield Medicine too to soften the RNG risk.
I barely ever have Plague Doctors use Battlefield Medicine. Maybe when we go into the Weald (stupid dogs) or Warrens (stupid pigs) but other than that I normally use them as a Blight machine.
Well, they can do both, just not on the exact same turn.
Occultist in the third and Plague Doc in fourth seems like a legit combination for Cove. Throw in Abom with his bile and those fishmen won't know what hit 'em.
grahYeah, Blight and anti-bleed are vital in the Cove 'cus of the Seaward Slash of the Pelagic guys, and the high Prot of the guys with shields.
Though Occultist is also good there with the Sacrificial Stab since most of the enemies there are Eldritch.
I find that the occultist does too little damage maybe it is just me being lazy.
But lately I have been running into plenty of trouble, so I AM short on money...I need a burst of good luck
Ok ok I am also a terrible manager.

It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesFinally defeated every Apprendice boss. Now I can finally stop juggling my roster spots to build boss-killing teams without having to fire my precioussss experienced and well-equipped characters. At least until my preciousss experienced and well-equipped characters start to die against actually dangerous challenges. :(
Well, Seaward Slash no longer inflicts Bleed and thank goodness it doesn't; it was way too strong for what these guys are.
Their attacks are still pretty strong, but they're much more manageable despite their high SPD.
grahYeah, their Gone Fishing attack also doesn't move people around anymore.
The Harpoon does tho

I wonder when she's going to come out.
She's part of the March 8 update BTW, unless there was a delay I missed.

Okay then.
I started a new game today, did two missions. I'd forgotten how slowly everything opens up xD
Slowly.
Gently.
This is a hamlet's making
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesI'm also gonna do my best to kind of build up as many heirlooms as I can so I can grab a bunch of levels for everything at once.
Speaking of the March update...

I've killed the first two bosses in the ruins now in my most recent game, both without losing anyone (though the Prophet fight was kind of close). Now I need to go into the Weald to see if I can kill the Hag, though I'll need another Hellion.
Town events projected for mid-late May. A thematic option has a chance to trigger based on the last expedition. Linux release!
So I'm to the point where a lot of my heroes are Level 6 and I only have red bosses to deal with before I go into the Darkest Dungeon.
Hmm, it's on sale again. Watching some videos, trying to figure out if I want to gamble on it.
Edit:
So I picked up the game and it's pretty awesome...and it's spiraled hopelessly out of control by the sixth week.

"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984I'm impressed with how damn good this game is.
I was afraid that it had a fail condition; you screw up on a few hopeless battles, all your heroes go insane, the town collapses and you lose, have fun starting the game over. Glad that doesn't exist. Also good that retreating is always an option and it may be more beneficial than suicidially forcing yourself through.
Right now, abusing some Red Shirts, the couch drops off a full party of idiots, throwing them without supplies at the darkness and seeing if I can profit. For laughs, I hit the Star Trek wiki and named them after Red Shirts from the series.

"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984That's a lot of effort for just some red shirts.
Characters like the Leper and Occultist are very wishy washy at the start of the game. If you're going for a healing Occultist, you need Trinkets that boost his healing and decrease his Bleed chance. Cleansing Crystal is awesome in this regard. I actually ran a second rank Occultist. Only viable in the Cove really because of his bonus damage against Eldritch, but he can tear them apart.
