[up] Only for the courtier to dodge, then resist your stun attempt, and take one damage from the highwayman's pistol shot.

The Highwayman shouldnt be pistol shotting unless he has a chance for a kill. He needs the crit buff strikes first

But that is one of the reasons why I do not like the highwayman much. He is, however, someone I like to pair with the jester.

If there is osmething on the front I need pushed back I let him slice his way up there and then shoot it back. If there is something weak in front, I let the jester make his way to the front to finale it.

[up] Highwayman, vestal, grave robber, whatever, any ranged character will do.

Right now I'm most partial to the Arbalest. Give them the right trinkets and you can have one that'll one-shot a bone courtier pretty easily at the start of every Ruin fight.

Noooo, with me it's been pretty consistent.

I like the arbalest/houndmaster combo.

I had a lot of fun with double Highwayman last night; Point Blank Shots forever!

The Highwayman also has a lot of synergy with a Graverobber who focuses on stuns. Shadow Fade out of the front rank, get the stun, and then go in with a point blank shot. The Wine, Woman and Song party group is pretty powerful because of it.

Still kinda stinks that the Leper refuses to head out with the Abomination. Hew and Rake would destroy the front two ranks in record time.

Unless the RNG decides otherwise.

A well supported Arbalest using Sniper Shot on a marked target is always going to dole out consistent, large amounts of damage, and that's not even factoring in her incredibly high crit chance and bolstering it. The only problem she has is that she's kind of like the Anti-Leper in the front rank. Blind Fire actually isn't too bad of a skill. Weak, but that speed buff it gets can be helpful.

A good group that she pairs up with is the Bounty Hunter, Hound Master, Occultist, and Arbalest. That grouping has a lot of utility at its disposal, and capitalizes on three of those classes having increased damage against marked targets.

Problem with Arbalest is that she deals physical damage, so she is not as good at dealing damage to high prot targets.

It is why I prefer a Hellion to take out beefy frontliners, because with a few trinkets she just bleeds the shit out of everything.

The Arbalest being sufficiently fast is also a good way to get a good shot off, especially via trinkets that give you buffs during the first round.

Okay, got my Level 2 Necromancer kill-team all to level 4 with what I think are the most helpful trinkets they can have. I'll make a run at it tomorrow.

The Arbalest is really more of a utility character. Her probably most useful attack is the bola shot, with its chance to push back the front row.

Only if you build an Arbalest that way. Without supporting the debuffs and move skills, her actual utility is pretty bad. A healing Arbalest is really more feasible, but her core still remains on captializing on her massive Crit chance and increasing damage via Sniper Shot. I can get consistent crit damage in the upper sixties that will utterly floor bosses consistently, especially with the right Trinkets.

Only other class can rack up huge amounts of damage on a single opponent is...probably the Bounty Hunter with two trinkets that beef up their base attack. You get a Plague Doctor to support him with emboldening vapors, it offsets any speed debuff and getting a maximum buff of 92% bonus attack damage. Going to try out that combo with the Leper and Abomination later, but it was pretty impressive, especially given I had no one to Mark for the Bounty Hunter.

Just wanted to thank anyone who bothered with the Darkest Dungeon page, by the time of full release we got some good amount of tropes! I was rather new at the time of the game's announcement, and the page helped me learn about page editing here.

As far as I'm concerned, there's still a lot to be added. '3' We haven't seen all the backstory comics nor is the whole affliction dialogue included.

There' always more to be added, especially if we get some post-release updates. tongue It's just that this was the first page I created so it's kinda like a bigger deal for me than most.

How quickly the tide turns!

Indeed; there's Merchant, afflicted dialogues, backstory comics, whatever new content might be added...

Say, Graverobber using Encourage on a Houndmaster will grudgingly accept that he's great help.

Second necromancer is dead with relative ease. Only had one person reach 100 stress (my Arbalest) and she ended up becoming Courageous instead, so it worked out very well. I used everything I'd gotten from it to do some upgrading too, so now the Abbey and the Tavern are fully upgraded.

Plague Doctor is a Necromancer murderer. Used one in all three of the fights, and stacking the Blight damage makes the fight a joke. Especially effective if you forgo a party that has a difficult time hitting the 4th rank.

Two casualties in this latest session, one a Level 4 Hellion (I went on a Long mission with no healing because everyone was either too high a level or in healing and I had no Vestal) and one a Level 0 highwayman in the Weald.

You can get away with a Short mission with no dedicated healer, but long ones will grind the party into the dust. Even taking a party that has some decent self-heals, Long missions are a challenge.
