I think the caption tells enough, actually... Though given the nature of the trope, it might be preferable for the image to include two or three more different scenes to show that the threat of The End of the World as We Know It (dammit, why is the trope name so long) is a repetitive occurrence.

Not illustrative enough; this either needs one pic with a lampshade about it being the Xth threat faced or a collage of individual threats.
Clock is set. I'm voting to pull the current for not being demonstrative enough.
So is this a work trope, not an event trope? If so, I support pull.
Given the trope name, I'd consider this pic misleading. Pull it.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanGiving it a reconsideration and is now inclined to support the pull, due to low quality image that seem to illustrate an entirely different trope
So, what do we replace this with? Collage like suggested in @2?
That would be the ideal thing to use.
Now that I've looked at the current again, I'm adding "low quality" to the reasons to pull, it's noticeably artifacted.
Or maybe hang a lampshade. Show a picture of "world is going to end" picture, and have someone remark, "Again?" or something along those lines...
It's just a picture of the Earth being hit by an asteroid, which it no indication of this trope whatsoever. This is when a show regularly has an end of the word scenario. And most of these scenarios get averted, or else the world would only end in only one of these ways (as pictured). Best way I can think to do is make a collage from some series that invokes this.
