Obviously, these five words are used a good and in a usually sensible deal in the Wiki (although in comparison to how GRAND the Wiki is, it's not used *that* much), but I was wondering about why it was not being used in some instances. One example: celebrities/famous figures behaving badly versus when fans allegedly do. Nice Character, Mean Actor, Broken Pedestal, Caught With Your Pants Down, etc. are protected by this phrase, yet Fan Dumb, Hate Dumb, Fan Myopia, Viewers Are Morons (amongst others) are not. Also, while on the subject, I think Mean Character, Nice Actor needs to be curbed somewhat since IMHO, many of the Real Life entries come off as gushing.

Another example would be the treatment of religious people vs. non-religious people. Why don't people who happen to be irreligious, like Nay Theist and Evil Stole My Faith, gain this protection while those who do have a faith, even those who are lax, fanatical or hypocritical (i.e. Hiding Behind Religion) in such deserve protection?

I can't deal with these forums; they anger up the blood too much.

Anything that is included in YMMV or Audience Reactions is automatically No Real Life Examples Please. That said, we have a thread specifically for deciding which tropes get this treatment.

And please note that unless something is listed in Keep Real Life Examples, that any given trope isn't NRLEP doesn't necessarily mean that it doesn't belong, just that it hasn't yet been investigated. Given the scope of the wiki as a whole and the small handful of people involved with the "nuts and bolts" parts of maintaining it, a lot of stuff can go unnoticed for ages before it pops up where one of those "nuts and bolts" people can see it (often during namespacing or when investigating related tropes for other purposes).

(ObDisclaimer: I'm one of those active in the thread that Fighteer linked to.)

I wonder: Should NRLEP also be used to exclude nonfictional examples that appear within the pages of publications otherwise oriented toward fiction, humor or reviews?

Depends. If it's taking a satirical tone, like The Daily Show, then it's generally okay to list. If it's straight factual reporting, then no.
