I used to be in a buddy cop series (I was the meek one) that ran for one season in 1976. Can't remember it's name, though...anyway, do I count as enough of a '70s action star to count?
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Have you never Googled yourself? You might me troped!
Lewis Collins, Gordon Jackson and Martin Shaw. You can't get more 70's action star than those three guys.
Collins was so taken with action roles that he tried to join 23 SAS. They turned him down for being too well known.
It's a shame he didn't get more work, really.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'From what I gather, Lewis Collins actually managed to complete Selection before the brass worked out that he was too much of a face. Thus hard as nails doesn't quite cover it IMHO.
I did consider Lewis Collins (sorry Colin Louis!), but the 28 mm figure has a proper 70's porn 'tache and collar length hair, and I can't see him wearing that!
It's Jason King (Peter Wyngarde)?

'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'I believe he may well be the inspiration - see the link to Flickr above. Unfortunately I've never seen the series, and can't find any episodes.
Are they not on dvd?
Not sure where the right place for this question is, but as it's mostly a bit of fun I thought here was least offensive.
I have a tabletop game called 7TV that celebrates the action series of British TV in the 60's and 70's. It's definitely at the 'Martini' end of the genre.
The conciet of the rules is that it is celebrating the long forgotten '7tv' TV channel, and throughout the book are scattered clips from listing magazines, or fragments of script. The listing magazine (basically mock up of the Radio Times) give a cast list for that week's episode

A popular musical group called the Mopsters seems set for hit parade stardom, but when their latest record starts to have an odd effect on teenagers across the country, Adam Kismet and Ms Pargeter must go undercover in the pop scene.
Ms Pargeter ...................... Paula Wilcocks
Fortnum ............................. RONALD CORBET
Mason ...................................... JOHN CLEASE
Pete Mc Carthy .................. Michael Angels
Joe London ............................ Rodney Bues
Barry Erskine ..................... Will Maynard
Producer PRESTON TREVOR
Director SAM PONSDALE'''
As you may see the actors are expys (?expies) of real actors.
I am looking for actors for my cast - Preferably British
For inspiration

Suggestions please, Tropers.
