That certain website would see nothing wrong with them being brothers and lovers.
Is the film still happening?
Given that we've heard absolutely nothing else about it since the last post in 2014, I think it's safe to say that this movie is now sitting comfortably in Development Hell.

Okay, I really dunno if I should revive this corpse of a thread, but news regarding the movie were mentioned a month ago, and, well...
...I don't know about you, but for me it isn't looking good.
please include Fat Cat's gang
I am the most suitable partner for Gaia. I have some bad news. You will not make it to Eden. This is the end of your journey.A couple months late, but I'm having a feeling this could get dropped on Disney+ sometime in the future.
Frank Angones (co-writer for the Ducktales Reboot) just made a series of tweets about how the Rescue Rangers made it into the series. He mentioned about how "various departments at Disney have been kicking around a big RR project, most recently that feature idea from Lonely Island announced in development a while ago. Bigger projects were in play that would restrict our ability to use them."
Who the hell are om Lonely Island?
New theme music also a boxI only know of The Lonely Island of that name, but I don't know how they'd be related to Rescue Rangers.
EDIT: Oh, I just looked at the earlier posts, and now I see that a member of said band is planned to direct the movie.
In a sense, G-Force is already something of a Spiritual Successor of Rescue Rangers, featuring a team of rodents and one fly who go on heroic missions.

Kinda lame that they cannot use the Rangers for even harmless guest appearances for a project that may or may not happen. You'd think they'd use those opportunities as a way to raise interest in the project.
It's the DC Embargoes all over again.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).The Rangers did get a Lawyer-Friendly Cameo in DuckTales (2017), but that was despite the embargo by Disney.
Yeah, I am responding to Angones's thread about the cameo.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Filming to begin next Spring.
The original cast returning and the plot seeming to be an original story are plusses in my book.
"Lucian, don’t be afraid, we’ll make it through this."I wonder what they'll look like to avoid ending up in the Uncanny Valley. A fat mouse with a red moustache will look weird even with the slightest realism.
My bet is that they'll choose a similar path to the final designs in the Sonic movie, pretty much 3D CGI cartoon models with realistic fur textures.
Same here, I'm really curious to see how they will translate these characters into live-action. Especially Zipper and Gadget.
It's not especially hard to reunite the original cast, tbh. Tress Macneille, Jim Cummings and Corey Burton are all still prolific voice actors who are just a phone call away for Disney.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Oh yes, a Humanoid Female Animal like Gadget is really hard to translate to CGI (does she have fur or bare skin?), not to mention Zipper who looks nothing like a real fly.
Official logo for the movie was revealed today.
I would have liked it if the rumors about the original voice actors for the characters from the show reprising their roles had been true, but oh well. Hopefully John Mulaney and Andy Samberg will do well as Chip and Dale.
That movie logo looks pretty cool.
"Lucian, don’t be afraid, we’ll make it through this."The plot of the film seems rather interesting. Thankfully, Polygon managed to relay the details from the conference so I don't sound crazy:
Disney’s live action remake of Chip n’ Dale Rescue Rangers is upon us — and set to be a hybrid animated-live-action movie featuring the voice talents of John Mulaney and Andy Samberg as the goofy chipmunk brothers. Mulaney is Chip, Samberg is Dale, and the Lonely Island’s Akiva Schaffer will direct.
This movie will be set in a world where cartoon characters live alongside humans — and traditionally animated characters are doing their best to stay relevant in a computer graphics dominated world.
Well, that wasn't a premise I was expecting from a Rescue Rangers movie, but I think it sounds interesting nonetheless. Seems like it could resonate with people who wish 2D animation was still as mainstream as CGI is nowadays.

I remember Chip N Dale once had a short lived comic book series that lasted from the 1950's to the early 1960s. They mentioned that their brothers, but could be friends. Unless, a certain website makes them more like gay lovers.
