If they make Jay short for Jeff, I could definitely see the character here being that one - especially if Firestorm has major influence in that series.

Though if it was James Jackson I could see him going by Jay.

He could even be the Famous Jett Jackson, but they probably won't go that route.

I like the Green Lantern idea. Dodge the Hal vs John vs Kyle vs Guy vs that new one that I forget the name of debate and just go for an original.

Heck, why Green. Why not Blue? All the benefits of the built in backstory without having to worry about Story-Breaker Power because Blue rings only work at full power around a Green ring. =D

So Roommate Laska got to episode 15 last night.

her reaction was eveerything I could have wanted. She was already saying things about Thawne!Wells like "No, Joe, you don't need his help, you need to push him out a window." but now she realllllly hates him.

there were some tears, there was a lot of shouting and hitting the couch and "No, oh gosh, oh gosh, no, no, not Cisco, oh no, no."

and then the time travel thing happened and she sat bolt upright and shrieked, " he went back in time he can save Cisco he better save Cisco."

Meanwhile, Roommate Ash got to episode 3 and during the Ronnie flashbacks there were tears and she was like "I'm not crying you're crying dont look at me."

we had to share "guilty pleasures" as intros for one of my classes, and mine was "I take sadistic glee in destroying people's emotions through fiction"

We got caught up! She is sooooo not ok with Cisco getting hurt. And she wants to shove Thawne!Wells out a window.

And roommate's sister has not seen episode 16. She thinks Cisco is dead

I asked Roommate that, and she paused.

"Well, we're both pretty evil. but He kills people. You aren't a time traveling murderer. Unless you are. You could be just messing with me. Are you a time traveling murderer?"

I paused and smiled....

"You're incredibly clever [Roommate]."

(her reaction was a monotone "Oh, I'm gonna die, my school problems are over." and then she threw things at me.)

You should use the line, "Oh, I'm not like Roommate. Some might call be the Reverse."

quoting any part of that scene to Roommate makes her throw things at me.

It's based off of the assumption that time will continue to spiral out of control until the exact thing that was changed comes to pass (Cisco's death, and - noticeably - only Cisco's death for some reason, not Central City being hit by a tidal wave), even though we're not given much indication that that's case.

Also, it posits that Barry couldn't possibly discover the truth about his mother's death unless Cisco is dead without giving an actual reason why, and ignoring he's already well onto the fast track of learning it.

Cisco seems to be having worse luck since the time travel. And that was the part I'm focusing on, no clue what they're getting at with Barry's mom.

I decided a LONG time ago—episode 2—that I didn't care what happened so long as Cisco lived. Honestly, that;s still true. Put him—put all of them—through so much emotional and physical trauma. I'm chill with that. break them and put them back together. as long as Cisco's still alive, I'm fine with it.

and yeah. Roommate and I refer to episodes 15 and 16 as " Cisco has a bad day no matter what timeline he's in."

Yeah, that article doesn't make a lick of sense. (Also, Eobard has managed to kill Tess and accelerate the production of the Particle Accelerator by several years, meaning that Barry has screwed with the timeline way less than Eobard. So Eobard should be the one with the worst backlash, or someone should live to replace Tess Morgan)

also, I don't give a crap about a timeline where the celestial beam of Sunshine is dead, even if it's the "real" or "prime" or "correct" time line. screw that. I want Cisco alive more than I want any timeline "intact"

I think that article overlooked the fact that the reason Wells doesn't want the timeline changed is a selfish one. This is the same Wells who killed the original and his fiancée, both of whom were supposed to live and triggered the blast over a decade early so he could train Barry and siphon off his speed. That whole don't screw with the timeline spiel was just so Barry didn't change anything that Thawn didn't want changed and could account for. The timeline is fine.
