That video sums up a lot of the problems I have with DSII and why I consider it the weakest of the three Souls games.
Is it just me, or does The Pursuer's Ultra Greatsword absolutely suck? It seems terrible... Like... the worst greatsword in the game. Am I missing something?
"I thought Djent was just a band" -Physical StaminaThe What's his face sword. Work really well for me and I am on Ng++ I only have it to +5 so maybe you are missing something
Praise the sun!! I said Praise the Sun!!! PRAISE THE SUN!!!!@Moth: Soul Memory keeps going up, but I can still be found within level ranges. It's only on NG that you need both to line up to see someone's sign.
And even then, +/-25% of something like 22 million souls is a gigantic range.
I wrote about a fish turning into the moon.I decided to do some Bellkeeping as Sparrow. It isn't going well. On the one hand, I killed three people who invaded me, and on the other, I've only had one successful invasion, and that was because I was the second invader, and shanked the player while he was fighting the other guy. Unfair? Yes, but I've been ganked before, and damn it, I want Titanite Chunks.
I think I may join the Blue Apostles as Farron, see how that goes. Punish some invaders.
I defeated Freyja as Sparrow. Eventually. I died the first time, then today I was summoning people to help. First one fell into that bit within a minute of joining. Second guy was a bit rubbish (doing half the damage of my not very damaging rogue), then he quit right at Freyja's fog gate. I waited there and summoned two more players, who both died within forty-five seconds without doing much to help, so I boned out, because there was no way I was taking Freyja on alone with defense for three.
Fortunately, the Sunbro I summoned next was much more useful, and I didn't bother waiting for another player at the game, I just brought Ashen Knight Boyd in. Great Soul Embraced.
I wonder what the actual Great Soul is in that battle. It's not Freyja's, but you don't actually get a soul when you examine the red spot that gives the Great Soul Embraced message. The obvious thing would be some connection to the dragon corpse. Anyone got any ideas?
Didn't know that was possible.
Freya's Great Soul is the Paledrake soul, which is to say Seath's.
So it is then, phantoms are actually just Dickwraiths biding their time.
There's a ring that makes any phantom look like a white phantom. Needless to say, hilarity ensues.
Red phantoms can't kill enemies though. That guy was killed by the actual summon.
Also that was an NPC summon. If that makes a difference.
It can't be the Paledrake's Soul because you get it at the same time as Freja's, but you don't get "Great Soul Embraced" until you interact with the red glow underneath the dragon. The souls alluding to the big bosses from the last game are more like Shout Outs than anything plot-related.
It's occurred to me that the very idea you can get through this game without dying makes it de facto easier than the last game. I never once dreamed of beating Dark Souls without dying. Frickin' Four Kings.

I wrote about a fish turning into the moon. You can get through all the games without dying. All it takes is skill.
Seath says hi
All it takes is skill.
Holy shit never thought of that
You miss out on crystal spells and Picasa farming though
Now I'd like to see someone nope the Dragon God's punch of righteous fury in Demon's Souls.
That, unfortunately is not possible.
@Ancient Dragon Soul: I think the reason the Ancient Dragon Souls is found in the memories is because it doesn't actually belong to the Ancient Dragon. Shalquoir and Nashandra both hint at it being a fake, and I heard the reason it drops a giant soul is because Aldia was using the souls of giants to try to recreate the dragons.
Actually, if you kill Seath without opening the prison, the prison unlocks itself inexplicably.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.I had not thought of/noticed that!
It can breathe fire, but so can the Giants in the Memories of Vammar that throw fireballs at you!

I wrote about a fish turning into the moon.Sparrow's adventures in bellkeeping still continue to not go well. I just want some titanite chunks, but I get invaded much more often than I invade. Tonight I got two grey spirits and a red phantom within a couple of minutes. Surprisingly, they did the honourable thing and came at me one at a time. I defeated the Bellkeepers, but the red phantom did me in. I only managed to invade once. I was the second Bellkeeper to invade that game (the other one being one I just defeated) so I switched to my daggers, but could not get a backstab. Then he killed us both with that massive sorcerer sword spell.
In summary: I get invaded, everything goes rather well. I invade, things go bad. I really need some chunks D:

bellkeeping is very productive when you get near 1,000,000 soul memory It feels like.
According to the wiki, you do not need to be in the Belfry itself to bell keep. As long as you're in an area next to it, such as the Lost Bastille, you should be able to invade.
So set up camp in the servant's quarters and make a smore or something.
BTW, does bell keeping give you any sin? I just like to keep my character sin free.

Not as far as I know. You're defending 'your' turf, not attacking someone else's turf.
My suggestion for Bell Keeping is to go to the Tower Apart bonefire in Lost Bastille, and go chill a bit on the ledge behind the windows giving access to a royal crossbow man who is overlooking dogs. Any drop from that area is either death or you are locking yourself away from the ledge, admitting you get an invader at all. I've had one, and I could deal with him easily when he panicked and GTFO, with no range to counter my advantageous position.
I've invaded the bell pretty often and I was pretty safe from Dickwraiths. Just stay alert, you don't want to be the one caught off guard and who jumps down the ledge to your death because you panicked. Also, do note that the one invader I had spawned right on top of me.

Wait, I thought you were playing the second game. It's only the first one that you can stay in a certain range by not spending souls.
