I've heard people claim it only works when killing enemies of the opposite gender - which are easier to find for female characters.
That said, I haven't tested the truth of that claim.
Huh, really? That's a bit of an odd mechanic. Also, it has been confirmed that the 'Scholar of the First Sin' content, along with all three DLC's will come in a free patch on April the 7th for all platforms. Xboc 360/PS 3 and PC (Direct X 9/11) will receive the following:
- Additional NPC's
-Parameter adjustments for improved game balance.
-Augmented item descriptions.
-Improved online matchmaking functionality.
Xbox one/PS 4 and Direct X 11 will receive the following, along with the features listed above.
-Additional upgrades to sound, graphics, and overall performance.
-Increase in maximum online player capacity in sessions (6 total)

Ds2 is fun times.
It's pretty dumb that the hi-spec version is going to be on its own server, From is basically splitting the playbase in two.
Sex-negative outrage culture and the Illuminati are realIs there a release date announced for the new version? I haven't been able to find one anywhere.
Sometime in March or April, I think.
I met the Scholar. He had one hell of a dynamic entrance, that's for sure.
What's Vengarl's body doing in the Shaded Woods? Did they move it, or add another one (which makes no sense)?
"Steel wins battles. Gold wins wars."I would assume they moved it to make more sense with his head's location.
Which makes me wonder where they put Tark.
I am still trying to figure out whether or not PC players have to pay for new content or not. I see lots of waffling.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans. For the DX 11 version, you do have to pay. But there is a discount that is going to be available. We don't know how much the discount will be.
Well now that Steam has produced, the Discounted version of Scholar of the first sin is 29.99. The full price is 49.99.
Not a very good discount in my eyes.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.Huh? Mine went down to $19.99.
/ Depends on whether you bought the three extra chapters or not. If you have them, you get the update for 20$, if you don't, it's 30$. Because I guess it includes all of the DLC.
Which is pretty asshole-ish of them because now I can upgrade to Scholar for just the price of the DLC chapters (30$), but if you bought them and then upgrade you will have paid the price of the full upgrade (30$ DLC+20$ Scholar). For the Lords' sake, From.

They call it the Rumour Mill because every time one specific guy posts I definitely feel cards going from my library to my graveyardSo is Scholar better for someone who doesn't have the original? I've heard a lot of horrible things about it, but only in the context of people who already had Dark Souls II.
Yes; it's cheaper than buying the original edition plus the DLC, and comes with various improvements like more online players and new enemy placements.
"Steel wins battles. Gold wins wars."It's an improvement over the original DSII and it's better priced than getting the original game plus Season Pass. It's just that it's a pretty bold and underhanded move coming from the company that promised that a) their game would have no DLC b) their game would not be ported in any way or form to the next gen consoles.
It's also, from what I've heard, not too different from the original besides the multiplayer extension and the minimal graphics improvement, so add that to what I already mentioned. Having to pay more to get it after dropping nearly 60 bucks in the original game (more if you got any of the three DLC chapters) feels so very wrong that people are pretty angry about it.
But, leaving From's humongous balls aside, if you don't have the game it's a good deal.

is it just me or is movement...weirder than in dark souls 1.
ohohokay yeah the movement in dark souls 2 is awful compared to 1. (and whoever changed b on ladders from sliding down to jumping off can go die in a fire)

Rolling is now all-directional, instead of locked to the cardinal directions - that might be what's messing you up.
If not that, I dunno. I didn't notice anything particularly different.
movement in general seems to be 8 directional rather than 360% like it was in dark souls. on my xbox controller there is a rather significant deadzone on the left analog stick that gets in the way of turning left while moving forward.
i hated falling to my death in dark souls, and that game had excellent controls. i hope this game never asks me to walk across long thin platforms at the risk of falling to my death, because i just walked across a plank over some water and very nearly ran off it because i cant adjust my direction subtly while moving

... Huh. That's odd, I've noticed nothing like that on PC or PS 3. Perhaps your controller's busted? \/(._.)\/
was able to more or less fix it with a mod.
Huh. It turns out that there's a sword that gradually restores your health with each strike, but it only works on the female gender characters. Looks like the sex change coffin had a use after all.
