Seriously,does that show still rake in the views?Or even have any sort of merchandise anymore?Cause it really feels like Nick is trying to desperately keep that show on life support.

Also, contrary to the words you are putting in my mouth, I DONT want constant cynicism and darkness,Shokew. True, Nick is a kids channel and it should NOT really be appealing to an adult like me. But toilet humor is really lazy and Im glad its not as emphazised in the advertisement. Im not calling for NO TOILET HUMOR GODAMMIT like you are making me out to be. God. I know Mr Enter is an asshole but if anyone is listening to him its you for letting him get under your skin to be this rude and melodramatic.

Saw the Sneak peek of Harvey beaks and it was like a lot of Chowder episodes.

I was just thinking about the recent FOP episode "Fairly Old Parent" and i have to say, the final scene where the cast is all in prison with that old lady disturbed me. I mean, an old person throwing out their back sounds painful enough, but the way they portrayed that there looked just plain agonizing. She had numerous bone ends popping up from her back, that looked like all kinds of painful

That was near the end of the 70s back when Nick first started as a more educational channel. Things quickly went down hill from there until they changed their format and mission statement in the 80s. I would love to see a reboot of "video comic book" though. Maybe have segments of Bleach to get across the adult anime line.

The channel was apparently known by its employees at the time as a "green vegetable network." That is, it was good for kids, but kids didn't like it. Only a pitiful few shows ever had good ratings on the channel - Pinwheel, You Cant Do That On Television, and The Tomorrow People.
Eventually Geraldine Laybourne took over in 1984, came up with a schedule in line with what children really liked and the famous orange splat logo... And the rest is history.
Fred Seibert's website has some stuff about this period of Nick, concerning the famous doowop "Nick-Nick-Nick" and Nick at Nite mostly.

I didn't mean previous/our generation of cartoons. That was an error on my part when I was writing the statement. I was trying to convey a point of blandness and subparness in shows that weren't toilet humor or torture porn

The only cartoon from Nick I hear is "Torture Porn"(god that term just sounds stupid out of context of something like Hostel) is Spongebob. Every other cartoon besides TMNT, Harvey Beaks and Korra has been dumb, stupid, blandness incarnate.
