I was about to say that exact same thing.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here."Dark, adult like shows in cartoons is not a new thing shows like Batman TAS (heck retty much the entire DCAU), As Told By Ginger, Chris Coloraldo, Avtar, X-Men TAS, Hey Arnol and more had this"
Okay, where in my comment did I talk about adult shows being a new thing? My comment was on how more shows showcase stronger continuity in it story telling, not the content of materials they show. The topic isn't about how dark and mature writing of modern cartoons become, but rather how interconnected the plots of said shows are.
Hell, Batman TAS is actually a fine example of this dichotomy where the early seasons of the show has a loose continuity while the later seasons (The New Adventures) was a lot more stronger to tie in with the DCAU.
Anyway to tie this back with Nick, aside from Avatar and Danny Phantom, not a lot of Nick shows showcase strong continuity compare to their CN and Disney counterparts.
Don't Judge me, need more views: https://www.deviantart.com/big-k-2011 | https://bigk1337.newgrounds.com/ | https://twitter.com/BigK64133I wonder, how popular was Spongebob during its early years?
It was fairly popular, I guess?
Anyways, are there any episodes of Welcome to the Wayne scheduled to air soon? Because from what I'm gathering only five episodes have aired so far and I'm kind of getting the feeling that Nickelodeon's just gonna fuck up with it somehow.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?According to people that worked on Nickelodeon, Spongebob took a while to build up into the popularity it eventually came to have.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.It took it a bit, I'd say around Season 2 was when it got really popular.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?New episodes are set to premiere in September.
So were those five episodes a preview or something?
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Probably. Much like how the web miniseries was like a glorified pilot.
I remember when Spongebob was first advertised as "Nickelodeon's newest, square-pantsiest Nicktoon."
Now it's outlived almost all the other Nicktoons XD;
The Protomen enhanced my life.Remember in those days Rugrats was the popular scapegoat for criticism of Nick as well.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."That has relevance how? The past few posts weren't that critical of Nickelodeon.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?So did you guys hear about how the original pitch pilots for The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron (back when it was called Johnny Quasar) have been found? The original VA for Jimmy/Johnny put them on his YouTube channel:
Pretty humble looking beginnings for what would eventually become one of Nickelodeon's most popular shows.
"I shall not be foolish again, my dear Gwendolyn!"Oh yeah, I'd seen on Pan-Pizza's Tumblr something about that.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Pan-Pizza? As in RebelTaxi? Yeah I've seen that too.
I know Jimmy's head was big in the final product, but damn that brain is massive!
Hey, guys!
Wanna see some new Nickelodeon shorts?!
Just a little observation I've noticed about Sponge Bob during its classic days: they had a lot of alt rock groups on there in some capacity. Ween contributed the Loop-De-Loop song to that one episode (and of course everyone knows about Ocean Man by now), Wilco appear on the movie's soundtrack, and Lux Interior from The Cramps even guested on the house party episode to sing that one song in there.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Rugrats isn't the only Nicktoon getting a comic from BOOM! Studios!
Rocko's Modern Life is getting one too!
Official description:
How about they do what IDW did when they had the CN license and reprint the original Rocko comic? There were only 6 issues; you could cover it in one trade paperback.
Better yet, how about a reprint of the utterly brilliant Ren And Stimpy comic? I have the trade paperbacks from the 90s but they only cover the first 20 issues.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Maybe they want to see how people will respond to the brand new series before they consider reprinting any old Nicktoon comic series.
I think I recall IDW reprinting old CN comics after their new comic series came out...
Speaking of Nick shorts, there's Planet Panic, which has been getting a considerable amount of attention.
I believe it's already greenlit and in production for Nick. Seems like a smash hit.
"We be we baby!"You sure? Where did you get that info?
Notice how those modern cartoons you listed with less continuity are in a minority or don't air anymore.
