It's that time again - time for another Star Wars RP. This RP will take place in 34 BBY which is roughly two years before the Battle of Naboo. For the uninitiated or those bad with numbers - this means that the Clone Wars have not happened yet and the Jedi are at their peak.

The setting is Nar Shadaa - a Hutt controlled planet that is one big city riddled with crime and corruption. However - like most big cities the bigger crimes - such as drugs, gunrunning, and racketeering are mainly limited to and controlled by the Hutts. However, there are some non-Hutt gangs that try to cut in on some of the slugs' actions. Needless to say - they have their work cut out for them.

This is where you come in. Rev Antilles has recently started a gunrunning venture. His operation is a small one but, unfortunately for him, he managed to steal one of Zarzak the Hutt's longtime customers. After Zarzak's men killed the customer for his lack of loyalty, the great slug then put a hit out on Rev Antilles and all of his workers and friends. With the heat getting to him, Rev has begun hiring some extra muscle in cantinas and mercenary listings to give him some leverage for the inevtiable showdown.

You will play either as one of Rev's gangsters or one of his hired muscle. Before the showdown with Zarzak, you guys will be performing smaller missions to gain experience/loot/funny RP stories. For your signup sheet I'd like

  • Name: What your character is called - be it a "street name" or their real one
  • Gender/Age: Combining the two because why not?
  • Species: The Star Wars galaxy is a diverse place so this is not a given.
  • Personality: Doesn't have to be that in depth. Just something to establish what kind of person your character is in most situations.
  • Equipment: What they carry on them. Includes clothing, armor, weapons, and anything else you can think of. I'll allow you guys to have SMALL vehicles - namely speeder bikes and swoops - but I will assign those to you in-game so don't bother putting them here yet.
  • Skills/Abilities: What your character can do. Keep in mind that Rev's operation is a weapons dealing one primarily so we probably don't need any meth cooks - unless they have some other skills to back it up.
  • Backstory: If they're gangsters - tell me how they met Rev/got his attention. If they're mercenaries - tell me their battle experience and how they ended up in Nar Shadda.

That should be it for now. Please PM me any questions you have and have fun with this. May the Force be with you.

Also - let it stand on record that I am not allowing Force-users in this RP.

  • Name: Fox Mittso
  • Gender/Age: Male, 27
  • Species: Nautolan
  • Personality: Straight-forward, practical, and not what you'd call the boisterous type. He tends to be cynical, with a soft spot for orphans, streetwalkers, and those types. He's always alert - but considering Nar Shaddaa, that could be said about just about anyone.
  • Equipment:
    • Jump Pack
    • Climbsuit
    • 1 DH-17 Carbine with a syntherope tether that makes it useful as an ascension gun
    • 1 Vibroknife
    • 1 Hold-out blaster pistol strapped to his lower leg
  • Skills/Abilities: He specializes in 'acquisitions'. He's alright with a blaster pistol or a knife or even his fists, roughly on-par with your average street thug, but his weapons are small things mainly there for emergencies. What he's good at, though, is getting into hard-to-reach places. He has a lot of practice with climbing, sneaking, hiding, picking electronic or mechanical locks, and has some sticky fingers. He's not a slicer, so he usually gets sent after physical goods rather than electronic ones.
  • Backstory: An orphan who grew up on the streets of Nar Shaddaa, Fox learned soon enough that most people aren't just going to give you what you want, learning how to steal things from shelves and off of pockets to survive. He joined a gang for a couple years, and was in it until he was 19, when everyone else was wiped out during a brutal hit from a rival gang; he survived by hiding in a plasteel barrel of fish. After that, being on his own again, he took up thievery as a profession. He first met Rev when he was in the middle of stealing a painting from someone else a few dozen floors up and got caught, and then jumped out the window, landing nearby. He ran off before the kath hounds could pick up his scent, but eventually joined the gang after being hired for a few small jobs.

You know that the DH-17 didn't exist in 30 BBY (which, by-the-way, is two years after the Battle of Naboo, not before), right Hanuman?
Also, interest.

It's just easier to link to that instead of having to say "Selective fire blaster pistol with, low range, low accuracy, no scope, and a high rate of fire."[lol]

Though now that I think about it, do you have an actual source that says it didn't exist back then?tongue The only thing the wiki says about the DH-17 is that they already existed by 19BBY in large quantities and both it and the carbine were later used in the Civil War.

@nman - Fox is accepted although does his climbing armor contain the helmet that the picture shows?

@DC-17: I always assumed that the Rebels were using antiquated blasters in the movies anyway grin. But, for the sake of this RP's canon - I'm just going to say they exist.

@desendelle: Great to see some more interest!

Probably, though I guess it would have room for his tentacles so it would be a little longer in the back.

And I suppose 'armor' is a bit of a misnomer, at least compared to other light armor. I think the purpose of the armored bits and padding is to protect from physical damage, to stop the climber from knocking themselves out or breaking a limb if they hit a wall too hard, I doubt it does much good against a blaster.

So basically the Star Wars version of rock climbing gear is what I'm assuming?

  • Name: 'Scree' as a callsign, and various epithets on the street. His name isn't known, but he's a member of Clan Ordo.
  • Gender/Age: Male, twenties.
  • Species: Zabrak.
  • Personality: Scree lives for battle. He finds everything in it — honour, thrill, accomplishment, friends, worthy opponents and self-fulfilment. When he isn't fighting, he's training. The mercenary calling fits him like a glove, and it shows in his straightforward, trigger-happy attitude. Nonetheless, he is bound by the Mandalorian way of life and has no wish of breaking away, subscribing to the True Mandalorian school of thought.
  • Equipment:
  • Skills/abilities: Warfare, warfare, and some more warfare. Warfare with blaster pistols; warfare with flamethrowers; warfare with dart-shooters and rocket launchers; airborne warfare via the use of a jetpack; urban warfare; close range combat, unarmed or with a Beskad; starfighter piloting.
  • Backstory: A Zabrak from Iridonia, Scree was always a hunter first, everything else wasn't important. A chance encounter with a True Mandalorian who identified his potential, made him join the Mandalorians, helping smith his own armour and training with Clan Ordo.
Taking up the mantle of a mercenary and bounty hunter, Scree travelled the galaxy, eventually passing through Nar Shaddaa, where Rev hired him.

Accepted. Welcome aboard! I've talked with one or two others who might be joining so we just need to wait for a few more before starting the game. Tell your friends.

Damn. Star Wars is awesome, it sucks that the last like, five SW RP's I've been in have barely had 5 players.
