Honestly, for my money, it looks more like the rat was infected with something from the Fridge which in turn possessed Brain. But we'll see, I guess.

Also, something I noticed, the dialogue here and in the first appearance of The Fridge is literally word for word. Check it.

Hmm, you're right. Looks like some demon that was possessing that rat moved on into the fridge, and either also into Brain at that time or into the Emperor then Brain.
In which we see Sam Logan revisit more of his earlier work...as well as sneaking in material we didn't hear initially...
In which we find that six years earlier, Sam and Fuzzy contemplated what to do with the Fridge.
In which we take 5 from the titular duo.
In which we see what another member of the Ninja Mafia was doing 6 years ago.

Also, mind blown. I thought that the demon that possessed the fridge had moved on to the Ninja Emperor, and from there to Brain. But apparently the source of the demon was Brain all along? Did he split himself and infect the fridge in order to keep an eye on Fuzzy? Was it even intentional? Whatever the case it's clear that the memories from that fragment have merged back into the source.
