Why not? Her one-time love was just murdered by her little shit of a youngest brother on the orders of her father.

Well, that was fun. Choices in the latest episode:

Didn't try to stab Ramsay. That plot-armor of his is annoying, I just knew from the get-go that I wouldn't get more out of this than different reactions. Other choices might lack in consequences but at least I don't know that beforehand.

Killed Bloodsong. From a meta-perspective it might be better to let him live to have one more soldier. But my Ascher was worried the sell-swords wouldn't come with him otherwise so "their house, their rules".

I did lie to Tyrion. Even if he finds out, the guard will too and now at least Cersei will know I tried.

Killed the traitor Royland. Didn't even hesitate and I was too fast to really be stopped by his statement about the ambush.

Left Rodrick behind. Here I went mostly with what I thought was more useful. Ascher had the mercenaries under control and he will be a good leader in a war. Plus, I couldn't leave Beskha behind after letting her literally walk through fire and making her generally unhappy before. She stayed with me, I stay with her.

Edit: I repeated the part with Garred multiple times. I messed up the hunting and I didn't want Sylvi to think of me as a bad hunter. She's a cutie, definitely one of my favourite characters so far.

[up][up][up][up][up][up] Not a fan of the Whitehills, even Gwyn, who basically wants Rodrik to lick her father's boot and call it peace. If there's an option to wipe that family out to the last man, I'm taking it without hesitation. Forresters ought to be gutting Whitehills, not fucking them.

I wonder who the new POV from Ironrath will be, assuming we follow the Forresters next season and see what happens to the ones still at Ironrath. Because Asher/Rodrik are dead men walking. We picked one to die now so the other could die later.

My hopes are Talia, Elissa, or Elaena. Or perhaps Beskha.

There was a Fan Art Series on Tumblr of a potential second season with Talia and Royland surviving the destruction of House Forrester. It was a REALLY good Fan Art series since it was screenshots of the characters redesigned in new models and everything.

I suppose that potential new season is out the window at this point.

To be honest I hope if they do a season 2 they focus on other characters.

If they kept the focus away from Ironrath, then they could probably get away with keeping one of them alive - a few changes in dialogue here and there, maybe a brief cameo of doable. It could be done, is all I'm saying.

I still think the survivor of the last decision of Episode 5 (Asher/Rodrik) will die anyway in the next.

Does anyone else think this game is better at writing the characters of color that appear? I haven't watched the more recent seasons of the show, but compared to the books and the first three seasons of the show (both of which have no POC with their own arc - most of them are directly connected to Dany) it seems much better.

Then again my interpretation means little being a white guy.

InkDagger Since: Jul, 2014
#513: Aug 5th 2015 at 8:23:58 PM

Yes and no?

I mean, yes in the sense its better than the show. No, in the sense that there really aren't many POC as it is.

None of the major Player Characters are POC (Admitedly, they're all in the same family so there's a reason) the only major figure that comes to mind is Bheska. Love her to death but that is only one person. Though, we now have potentially two more (Birdsong and the leader of Asher's Forces) but it depends on the next episode if they'll have character depth or development.

I'm actually concerned now about if the pit fighters will follow Rodrik...They were loyal to Asher but I don't know about Rodrik...Maybe Beskha will help me out.

Thoughts on what the North Grove is going to turn out to be? The next episode title is Ice Dragon so...grin...sadly timing-wise I don't think Garred will fly over the Wall on a frost-breathing beast and freeze Gryff mid-tantrum.

Anyone who assigns themselves loads of character tropes is someone to be worried about.

An Ice Dragon would be awesome, but it'll seem kinda weird that House Forrester gets one to destroy the Whitehills. Again, I like them (I have changed my mind on what I said earlier), but the Forresters (and Whitehills) are still kinda the lowest tire of noble house. Its kind of too big to be an unimportant background event.

Are we supposed to cover theories as spoilers?

I think ice dragons were mentioned in the books, but we've never seen one either there or in the show. I'd like to see Telltale's interpretation of one.

Wait....

How does the game have better POC representation than the show? That's pretty bs when you think of the greater volume of POC characters in the show and the importance to the narrative especially given the prominence of House Martell and Essos

I know it's good fashion to bash the show to favor the game but let's try and be objective about this. I also laugh at the notion of the writing being better. Sure S5 had some glaring missteps but I can make a list of all the contrivances present in the game

As I said, I haven't seen the show beyond S3. Regardless, from what I have seen (and read), Dorne fully follows the "sexualized foreigner" trope. Essos is pretty much an entire continent of the "Other." The game follows this a bit too, to be sure.

All in all I like the books better (the characters, the plot, ect.), but the above was a thought rather than declaration. I was asking for opinions.

As for the writing, I don't particularly care about or notice "contrivances." What I do care about and notice are characters, and, having not seen the show, but read 3 1/2 of the books, I definitely like Telltale's characters better than anyone in those.

Also I don't feel like I really have to worry about this game devolving into darkness-induced apathy. It is dark, of course, but not dark enough that I feel like caring about anything is a complete waste of time.

Why do we even count the Dornish as POC? I always associated them with southern Europe, mostly Spain. The Summer Islands seem the closest the setting has to an Africa and I would like to see more of them.

Spanish people are POC. As is a lot of southern Europe.

POC litterally just means "not white," or if you want to argue about the definition of "white" then "not caucasian"
