The random platforms aren't THAT bad. Certainly a lot better to manage than say the rail cart on Phantom Express and its constantly bombing you with pink bricks pumpkins. You get so many bloody Parries on that boss just so you don't get the cart slapped the wrong way.
The most BS section in the game was the pier level where you ride the kraken.
I probably died more times on that level than any boss.
HHHGGGGNNGHH!!!! Why isn't this game on PS 4 or Mac, why why whyyyyyyy?!!! It looks sooo cool!
^^ Perilous Piers is actually almost effortless with the Chaser equipped. Just keep slapping the kraken's jewel and dodge the few shots that make it out of the enemies.
Now the Pacifist run of it? That's a bit more doing.
"HHHGGGGNNGHH!!!! Why isn't this game on PS 4 or Mac, why why whyyyyyyy?!!! It looks sooo cool!"
Because Microsoft bankrolled it.
About this game's difficulty, thanks to bosses being retry-able I was able to finish this game. So I think it's still easier than a longer difficult game that's a rogue-like, like say, Enter the Gungeon.
I would say ETG has similar boss difficulty as Cuphead, except I can't retry them immediately without slogging through randomly generated dungeons again. Which is why I've never beaten ETG yet.
, Many of my deaths to that section was wondering why my ride was sinking and I couldn't do anything about it. Except I could but I didn't know the ride gets stunned by a collision with rocks until many runs in, and even more runs trying to figure out how to destroy the rocks.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Initially I gave up on the game because of Grim RN Gstick, but I gave it another chance and beaten almost everything on the isle three.
Except Dr Wily and his Iron Giant.
So... any tips for him? I can't even get past the first form before getting overrun with the sheer amount if crap on the screen.
IIRC, start breaking the head laser immediately, then focus on the lower body parts. Don't forget shrinking when you're in a tough position, this thing comes in really handy against him.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Break the laser beam antenna first, then the launch bay on his belly, then take out the chest part. (Mind the really freaking slow but homing bombs that come after the launch bay is broken.) Parry the electric beam thingies that come from that.
Then shoot the pop out mechanical heart. When his body falls away use your bombs when his head flies by on the lower part of the screen, you'll only hit him once or twice per pass. (The Super Bomb ability makes this part really quick.)
Use the Coffee charm (autofill Super meter) as well as spamming Special moves and Super moves makes it go a lot quicker.
On the last phase, dodge like crazy and don't let yourself get walled in either by the electrified walls or the gem bullets. It'll take some tries but eventually you'll get him. (The last pattern is very similar to Wally's feather spam.)
Thanks, guys, I finally beat that boss.
It helped that on the first phase I unloaded all my resources into the laser, then focused on building up my super meter before taking out the other two, so that by the time the heart shows up, I'd have a readied super, which takes out the heart instantly and skips the utter nonsense with electric arms and homing bombs with magnets. The coffee helped a lot, without it I would not have the readied super in time.
Then it was a matter of time practicing the last phase.

^ You're welcome.
And in related news, last night I went on an achievement hunt: Bravo Zulu P-26, a secret achievement. Defeat a boss using only the plane's mini-bullets. Did it on Wally Warbles on Simple. It took me over 5 minutes to beat just that one in that state.
One thing about Cuphead: it will never ever ever look dated.
Found this article on Gamasutra.
Cuphead, Cruelty, and Selling Unfairness to You.
It was a huge amount of fun. I played a lot by myself. A lot co-op with my teenage daughter. A reasonable amount with my 11-year old daughter. Turns out my kids can be serious hardcore "Die 50 times and keep at it!" gamers when the bad guys are saucy mermaid ladies.

Oh you.
I'm not joking. 20 years from now, will it look dated like, say, Doom?
Whoosh!
Though I'll help you out. It already looks "dated". Dated 1930 that is.
But I know what you mean, it'll age well.
2D artwork generally ages much better than 3D. It's why pixel art is still around after all this time, the tech doesn't change. It's all about the creativity.
Cuphead's graphic style is already very, very dated since it came out. Intentionally, of course.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Cuphead is not pixel art. It's cel animation.
@ Another Guy: The guys behind cuphead said they aren't unwilling to do ports to other platforms.
Watch SymphogearMicrosoft though, are they willing?
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! All bosses cleared on Expert. Only the Devil remains to A-rank or better.
That and somehow beating King Dice without getting hit for the "Rolling Sixes" achievement.
I've done it! I've achieved all the Cuphead achievements! Including Rolling Sixes!
You can cheese King Dice by way of Smoke Bombing through his skinny noodle arms. No card parrying required.
Also I found Chips Bettigan of the King's Court to be surprisingly weak to the Chaser weapon.
Wow! Of the six NAVGTR Award nominations that Cuphead received, it took home the awards for all six of them in a rare, astonishing feat. What a surprise. The awards were: "Animation, Artistic", "Art Direction, Period Influence", "Character Design", "Control Precision", "Game, Original Family", and "Original Light Mix Score, New IP". Simply wow!
I really hope the developers are happy. From what I heard, this was a major gamble for them, and it seems like it paid off big time.
Anything with random platforms is bullshit, but otherwise it's just a simple matter of trial and error.
It's been 3000 years…
