We shall see that at which dogs howl in the dark, and that at which cats prick up their ears after midnight. - Howard Phillips Lovecraft

It first happened in 2012, The Monsters started to emerge, Thirty foot tall monsters of destruction, however, that's not all. Th Earth itself started to change, America sank beneath the waves, England, transformed into a lava filled wasteland, Japan, a desert, The Hawaiian Islands became frozen over, and in desperation, Humanity created Greater Robotic Implementation for Movement and Military, 50 foot mechs, designed not only to combat the monsters, dubbed Demons, but to also provide rescue., time will tell is this succeeds

Welcome to Ragnarok! A post apocalyptic Mecha Rp! Keep in mind, that this a bit dark, not to mention serious. As for why the mechs are so small, it opens up the possibilites, as well as, in my opinion, allowing more brutal fights. You play as Pilots of Grimms as you fight Demons, rescue people and sometimes fight cults....Just try not to die. You may also submit Demon concepts, though that's going to be a a bit later.

  • PILOT SUBMISSION FORM

PILOT SUBMISSION FORM

  • Name: Kavo Gladius (Nickname: Kav)
  • Appearance: Somewhat muscular build, yet still kind of slender. Yellowish eyes. Dark brown hair. Bionic left hand.
  • Background: German by descent. Had a sense of honor from a young age, but realizes that pragmatism is sometimes the best option. Lost his left hand in an accident involving a fencing foil, a fence, three apples, and a stuffed animal. Fascinated by robotics and physics.
  • Abilities: Excellent problem solving, pretty steady left hand (as far as bionics go), Agile

Notes: Operates extremely recklessly under severe pressure. (As in, "Ascended absolutely surrounding him and also eating his mech piece by piece" severe.) Known for pushing himself to the utter limit, if it's needed.

GRIMM

Shardknight

  • Appearance: A slender, elegant machine. Arms and legs are rather blade-like. Head, torso and booster units are highly reminiscent of the fictional machine known as "White Glint". Shoulder plates and "blade" edges are highly reflective. Blue-green accent colors. Nearly 43 feet tall. Covered in decorative designs, which are worn from the various battles the mech has been in.

  • Description
    • WEAPONS
      • Bladed Limbs: Shardknight's legs and feet are reinforced and sharpened in such a way that they slice through flesh with minimal damage to the mech.
      • "Gamma Option" Linear Cannons: High-intensity, shoulder-mounted plasma cutters. Fires off in the classic "Dead Space" Line-Pattern. Excellent for armored targets, less effective on flesh.
      • Mk.4 Flare-Pattern Disabler: Disablers are powerful devices used for temporarily stunning an opponent. Flare-types are recognized for their distinctive and blinding flash of light. The Mk.4 mixed this with a deafening noise for extra stopping power. Head-Mounted.
      • "Fragmentor" Comboweapon: An interesting mix of Shockwave Generator and Dual Gatling guns, the Fragmentor fires out fletchette-like spikes. The weapon can be overcharged for a shockwave which knocks back most enemies (Depending on what it is).
    • HARDWARE/SOFTWARE/UTILITIES
      • Mk.9 Saphire-rank Light Armor
      • Quintuple-Point Relay System: allows for a higher limit to the pilot's ability to move
      • Holo-HUD: provides extremely high quality and easy-to-see readouts of a mech's status
      • Hyper-Modular AI: Customizable to what a pilot wants... and his mech's limits. Extra "pieces" tax the electronics systems more and more.
      • Experimental Cold Fusion Engine
      • ...

(How high is Human tech in this? I kind of what Shardknight to levitate slightly off the ground)

It's about Pacific Rim level though I'm going to have to say no to the slightly levitating, everything else, however is accepted.

It pays to have an alternative. Just going to have its feet bulge out at the bottom.

Or something. Dragon talons, anyone?

(Say, unless I'm missing it, I don't think you mentioned how much time passed between the Demons appearing, and the time of the RP.)

Character: Leon Bismarck Age: 28 Appearance: Thin, and in relatively average physical condition. He refuses to cut his scruffy dark blonde hair and occasionally wears a ponytail, or even a hairband to keep it out of his eyes. Abilities: Excellent Target Shooter; Keeps Equipment in Top Condition; Prefers to Follow Orders

Description: Leon was always fascinated with marksmanship. His parents indulged his fascination from a young age, but refused to let him practice his shooting without strict regulation, including ammunition. Due to this, he was inspired to make every shot as accurate as he could.

Leon would practice exclusively at shooting ranges. He had no interest in hunting, and actually developed a rather mellow and pacifistic personality. Even with the advent of the Demons, he never lost his laid back attitude. Now he hopes to use his lifelong passion to safeguard humanity, and has largely devoted himself to mastering his control over his GRIMM, Magrev.

GRIMM: Magrev

Description: Standing at a squat 30 ft tall, the Magrev is one of the smallest GRIM Ms produced, though its overall weight and mass is identical to its taller cousins. The Magrev is built on the principle of firing high powered, long range shots at enemy Demons while range and impressive armor keeps the pilot safe from harm.

Magrev's stocky design features short, but sturdy legs, a wide torso with a bulging 'backpack', and is highlighted by a massive gun affixed to its right arm. The left arm is by contrast relatively normal, and the mechs hand module features a surprising level of motor control. The mech's plating is a dull, faded brown color, unevenly colored in some sections due to modification or simply the difficulty of securing/manufacturing the materials in such a dangerous world.

Weapons:

-Mega-Cannon: Essentially the biggest gun human technology is capable of building while still being able to be carried by a GRIMM. It hits hard, at extreme long range, and is pretty much the Magrev's only means of defense. Recoil is enough to knock the mech backwards. The fact that it doesn't cause the entire Mech to teeter or fall to the side is a marvel of human engineering.

Utility:

-Harpoon Launchers: Four launchers mounted on the mech's chest capable of firing extremely high durability cables. The spears are designed to pierce a Demon's hide, and when combined with the Magrev's anchoring systems (see below), are capable of locking down a target for easy focused fire.

-Leg Anchors: Each of the mech's legs features a series of pikes capable of being driven deep into the ground. Doing so also locks the mech's lower motor controls(override possible), essentially making the entire vehicle immobile. The torso remains functional. Primary use is to counteract the Mega-Cannon's recoil.

-Tow Anchor: Featuring a long cable stored in the mech's 'backpack' and a high powered winch, the Tow anchor (which is situated beneath the 'backpack') can be lowered and used for a variety of purposes. It's possible for the mech to pick up the anchor (which is basically a larger, more future tech version of a standard nautical anchor) and physically jam it into a target, whether it be a piece of terrain or an enemy Demon.

-Laser Communication System: In addition to standard issue communication systems, the Magrev features a tightbeam laser in the mech's head which can directly patch into any communication systems it's pointed at. Line of sight must be maintained throughout transmission.

-Jump Jets: Four jets surrounding the mech's backpack and key balance areas allow for limited use jumping to help offset it's otherwise slow and plodding pace.

Those sizes don't seem quite right. Why would the GRIMMs be taller?

PILOT SUBMISSION FORM Name: William Mc Intosh

Appearance: Large build with above-average musculature. Dirty blond hair, green eyes, tanned skin. 25 years old.

Background: A Georgia boy through and through, Mc Intosh signed up to defend the human race after his hometown became flooded. Extremely violent towards demons and their ilk. Willing to lay down his life for the team, and never, ever lies.

Abilities: Survivalist skills, along with exceptional marksmanship. Very good boxer. Possesses an unusually good singing voice.

GRIMM Appearance: Mc Intosh pilots the Drake, a lightweight forty-foot tall GRIMM designed for hit-and-run CQC tactics. Possessing slender digitigrade legs, long arms, and light armor plating that exposes some of the inner workings. The head resembles a block with a single green optic. The chest hides a micro-reactor. A pair of jets protrude off the back, allowing it to fly in short bursts. The Drake is primarily red, with orange trim. A green circle is painted on the right shoulder.

Description: The Drake is a Fragile Speedster with a bite, and primarily designed for combat. Its weapons are as follows.

-Serrated Vibro-blades: mounted on each arm at the elbow, the wickedly sharpened blades are forced to vibrate at incredibly high speeds, turning even glancing blows into gaping wounds.

-Two 5mm miniguns: mounted on the right shoulder, the minigun can put a nasty wound in anything that happens to be faster than the Drake.

-Dragon's Breath: easy to explain. A burst of napalm shot out of a mounting near the head. If the 5mm and blade can't get through tough armor, then he can choose to burn it out.
