Kantai Collection: Moe IJN Battleship Combat

I've never really experienced the "pain" of LSC.

I suppose it's because I think the normal ships are fine on their own, LSC exclusives are just kinda better. Even then their consumption makes it so that you hardly ever use them outside of the very last stages of events. (But duuuude Bisuko Dre is just cash art.)

The only ship I kinda wanted from LSC was Bismarck, who I thankfully got within 4 attempts. Within those 4 attempts I got Yamato when I accidentally put Haruna as flag (she's my lucky ships) while trying for Bisuko. And a Taihou in the celebratory LSC, for that successful LSC.

But by that time I had already more than enough ships of each class that were battle ready. I was also pretty high in the 90s HQ wise when I started. So I guess the trick is to just make sure you're set everywhere before gunning for the big ships. Relying on them to pop up makes the pain doublefold.

Honestly, the main reason I want Bissy is that while in school, I wrote a paper on Rheinübung, of which Bismarck was kind of notable, so it's one of my favourite ships. It's not like I need more battleships, since the only other battleship I don't have is Roma. Less need and more want.

The ones I actually use relatively frequently are Fusou if I need one that isn't a fast one, and whichever Kongou I'm levelling at the moment if I need a fast one. If I need to I have as I mentioned ships to fill out with, but usually I prefer using smaller ships instead.

Hope you're stripping her of the 35.6cm guns when you're at it. Those are really useful for upgrading to the triple-gunned 35.6cm, which is the easiest and cheapest + accuracy main gun you can get for your battleships.

Also, hah, I noticed that they changed Shouhou's kai art. Sasuga Bob, she looks a whole lot better now for sure.

Hope you're not saying that as if I'd be stupid not to, since that'd be a little condescending.

I have about two pages of those guns, not even counting the equipped ones. I save a large stock of basically everything that isn't completely crap, since the equipment cap is fairly high relative to what you need.

I've scrapped all my (what I thought then as) crap guns. Whoops.

You'll get more eventually. They're not particularly rare. Improvement materials to actually use those guns for upgrades are far more rare.

I'm aware. I've been playing for a year now (oh man), God help me if I wasn't.

Just Kai Ni'd Hatsushimo, which took a good three months. I'm just sick of 4-3. Next project is Yamashiro who's at 73, and Fusou at 60. The proto's will be nice.

I have Zuikaku at 80 so I should be fine for her Kai Ni. Have a BP stashed too. Shoukaku is at....20. Haha.

I'm mostly just levelling some destroyers and light cruisers at 1-5, because I don't have Hacchan, and, well, there aren't exactly a lot of options to get her, so I might as well get some experience while I'm at it. Also levelling battleships and heavy cruisers on exercises. Yamato's already at level 50, and it hasn't even been a week. Recently also kai nied (which I've mentioned) Haruna, Choukai, and Ashigara, with Kirishima, Maya, Bucky, and Shigure only a few levels away. And Poi's just about level 98, so there's that. Now she only needs about as much experience as it takes to kai ni her to reach 99.

Shoukaku and Zuikaku are kind of reversed for me, but still more even. 55 and 26. Then again, Shoukaku was my first carrier, and Zuikaku my most recent.

I'm just focused on getting my resource count higher right now. Especially since the event announcement. :<

Well, I've cut down on some stuff, most notably LSC, which tends to be a major resource drain, but I've not pulled the plug entirely on doing stuff, especially since a few ships are so close to kai ni.

I'm also trying to determine if some ships I just got are worth keeping just for kai equipment. Probably not, though. They're a few destroyers and Aganos, so nothing particularly unique or hard to get, and right now I'm kind of cramped for space. Would like to have sufficient room for the event. Some have CGs to collect, though, and I like to get those if I can.

Guys, does the green 10 cm guns counts as main guns for night battle Double Attack?

Destroyers can't equip secondary guns at all, so if they can equip them, they're main guns.

Started event stockpiling in earnest.

Yamashiro's hitting 80 tomorrow so after that hit in ammo and steel I'll be starting from 34k each. I think I'll try to go 50k for fuel and steel this time around.

Any tips on how to stockpile? I'm not sure how will I break the 18.25k regen limit I have right now...

Run 2 for buckets, 21 with 2 sparkled (great success 80% of the time) for ammo and fuel.

Steel's usually no problem if you just do your dailies which give you a ton that you most likely don't use that much outside of construction.

If you have 37 and 38, those speed up the process, but they're not really essential — just convenient.

6 for bauxite but only if you're gonna be around to keep checking it. (80 for 40 minutes) Otherwise, 11's your best bet which takes 4 hours and pulls in 200-ish.

13 before you sleep for buckets and fuel and ammo.

I don't really sparkle ships for expeditions. Mainly because it's just a hassle, and that makes the game a hassle to play. On the other hand, if I happen to have some sparkled ships sitting around, I might as well use those.

Personally I like expeditions 2, 5, and 6 if I'm working at the computer anyway. 3 if I'm doing LSC stuff. 21 might be better than 5 depending on if you sparkle and what you need the most.

I'm not fond of sparkling, but 2 ships really isn't asking much right? It grants a significant boost to 21's already stellar resource returns. For less than 10 minutes of 1-1. Morale 85 lasts for like 12 runs of it.

I'm beginning to not trust the devs on "stock bauxite" warnings. I got it to 35k last time and used less than 5k of it. Should've spent those expeds bolstering fuel and buckets.

@Jigaboo: thanks! I got 37...except that I don't have CL/DD with enough level...so I guess 5/6/21 for me...after I finish getting Z1 that is.

Yeah, I'm going to stop on the bauxite once I get up to some decent level. Or actually, I'll probably just stop now at 10k. The regen level is high enough as it is now, and I mostly use it for LSC anyway, which I don't do at the moment anyway.

As for sparkling, it's not so much that I don't use sparkled ships for them as I don't sparkle ships specifically for expeditions. I usually have a few ships sparkled I can use, and since 21 is a barrel expedition, you don't need to sparkle as much as for a regular expedition.

When I got it I had more problems getting the barrels, as I had power-levelled Poi to kai ni by then. And interestingly, since around then she's always been at the same level as my HQ level, give or take one level. Right now she's level 98, and my HQ level is 97.

I use sparkling as an excuse to clear dailies and the "Defeat bosses" weekly. Over the course of sparkling 15+ D Ds to max and around 5 C Ls (the usual turnaround for the quest gang for the whole week) clears it no problem, and what's more it's more resources when you're done.

I feel like I've been on HQ 98 forever. I was steaming through levels fairly quickly until the late 90s where it's taken near months to complete one.

The only ship I have at 99 is KTKM-sama. Just too useful.

I actively try to not use Super KTKM-sama and her little less lucky lesbian, since I know I'll be using them whenever I need either the preemptive strike or the one-hit-kill night firepower. And Kiso is currently in my exercise team for some hopefully fast experience.

Yeah, I either sparkle or run Orel for most quests. Last thing I got before I stopped LSC was my fifth Maruyu, so I have two of those to level. Orel does fine for that. Or the occasional 2-4 for variation.
