RIP, a truly inspiring life has left us.
(I fear the discussions this will spark.)
Also...I admit, I wasn't actually aware he was still alive.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.RIP to one of the most inspiring figures in history.
May Mr. Mandela rest in peace and may his family and friends find peace and comfort.
Beyond the beaten path lies the absolute end. It matters not who you are... Death awaits you. — NyxJust heard it. May he rest in peace. He left a great legacy behind, which will be appreciated for years to come.
Is it wrong that I found out about this through The Onion?
Looking for some stories?0dd: Not an entirely unreasonable assumption, he kept to himself for most of his post-presidential life.

Nelson Mandela - there's nothing written. Can somebody start writing an article of him?
I know. But there's nothing on the man himself.
Bit from President Obama's words today about Mandela,
He achieved more than could be expected of any man.
Today he's gone home and we've lost one of the most influential, courageous and profoundly good human beings that any of us will share time with on this Earth. He no longer belongs to us; he belongs to the ages.
Can't help but notice he borrowed Secretary of War Stanton's remark about Abraham Lincoln after he died. Full text here.
"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min KimWow, 95? For a guy living in hardship he had a long life.
I just found out about an hour or two ago. It feels kind of empty that such an inspirational leader was still around yesterday and now he is not with us.
I'll repeat what I said to Hibiscus when she told me.
WHAAAT NO WHY NOOOOO ;~~~;
At least he had a long and fulfilling and eventful life. A life that no man in S Africa never will have to relive.
But.. I mean, 95. Jesus, wow.
RIP Madiba. *salutes*
"Wait, it's IV. Of course they are. They'd make IV for Dreamcast." - Enlong, on yet another FFIV remakeHe was the man.
And he will forever be the man.
RIP Mandela. You left a wonderful legacy that many can only hope to live up to.
One Strip! One Strip!Mandela was, as The Onion said, the only modern politician worth missing. He was an inspiration to the world, he lived a long and full life, and although I was surprised given the news of his recovery, it was his time.

I'm sorry. I'm very very very new.
Nelson Mandela, first black president of South Africa, leader of the struggle against Apartheid, and world icon and inspiration died today. He was 95.
My prayers are with his family and his country.
