Bit from President Obama's words today about Mandela,
He achieved more than could be expected of any man.
Today he's gone home and we've lost one of the most influential, courageous and profoundly good human beings that any of us will share time with on this Earth. He no longer belongs to us; he belongs to the ages.

Wow, 95? For a guy living in hardship he had a long life.
I just found out about an hour or two ago. It feels kind of empty that such an inspirational leader was still around yesterday and now he is not with us. 
I'll repeat what I said to Hibiscus when she told me.

At least he had a long and fulfilling and eventful life. A life that no man in S Africa never will have to relive.

Mandela was, as The Onion said, the only modern politician worth missing. He was an inspiration to the world, he lived a long and full life, and although I was surprised given the news of his recovery, it was his time.

Nelson Mandela, first black president of South Africa, leader of the struggle against Apartheid, and world icon and inspiration died today.
He was 95.
My prayers are with his family and his country.
