... and what about the time period where basically all the story happens, hmm? That's the interesting part, along with the best basis for these things. Not the epilogue and backstory. >.>

It still will take place mostly in Various versions of Tokyo during various episodes or manga chapters (or sometime in between or after them), the satellite is just a base to get assignments from and for everyone to congregate and exchange info. Other than that, it emulates Sailor Moon pretty closely. There may be some Crystal Tokyo or Silver Millenium scenarios, but those haven't been bolted down in plot yet and might become pretty interesting with some player ideas.

Except that it's basically working like a military set-up and not a normal magical girl thing any more, which is what lost my interest in the first place. That and the possibility for a dozen versions of the same character because of random continuity grabbing. Especially Venus...

Said I'm not interested, and that's not changed. Please don't try and change my mind or anything else, I'd rather not join. :/

[down] ... I was making posts to see if there actually was some sort of compromise that would work. There isn't.

Oh hey, Scorpio, on the Sailor Alpha thing - I had an idea! Since in the canon there are the Sailor Power Guardians, which look after the Sailors' space-palaces. Perhaps you could make Sailor Alpha a 'relative' of one of those things (or at least derived from similar Moon Kingdom technology) with her relevant 'palace' being the station?

[up][up][up] Yeah, but it still shows that being ordered and militarized is part of the canon at some points. Also I have no idea how past/future magitech kingdoms in space is not interesting.

Also the basic setting feels more Justice-League than military to me, but whatever.

EDIT: ...then if you don't mind my asking, why are you still making posts?

[up][up]I'd assume that people would not all attempt to play the same character because of all the potential choices, and then doubles would only really happen on certain missions for interesting character interactions. It really only looked about as military as a Sentai show (which Sailor Moon partially is), but if you still don't want to join...

You can always come back later once all the wrinkles are ironed out and an actual sign up sheet gets done. smile

[up][up]The Power Guardian idea makes sense, considering the entire ship runs on Moon tech anyway. Sailor Alpha could have been a gift from Queen Serenity too, like the others.

...To be fair, I kind of have my doubts about the setup too. It just... Doesn't seem to feel right for some reason. Sorry.

I mean, I agree that Sailor Moon does have sentai roots, but this seems more like Jetman or Go-Busters when I always thought of it more like Zyuranger or Magiranger, if that makes sense.

Hm... the differences in opinion are probably because Sailor Moon is a very Wake Up, Go to School & Save the World type thing, where a lot of the plot is because people aren't entirely sure how to put an end to things and terrible communication† . This has a non-civilian setting, fixed assignments, and presumably doesn't have people constantly doing the wrong thing.

... and the messed up command structure is just weird. Every single senshi ranks below an AI in charge of a satellite. What.

Again, the idea seems more 'Justice League' than 'SHIELD', to be honest. Most of the characters are still going to be teenagers. If your idea of fun is Poor Communication Kills, then I'm sure something will come up. Through I guess since you don't want to play it's a moot point.

Basically, every character is in it voluntarily, as they all want to help defeat whatever's trying to take over the dimensions. So yeah, its more akin to Justice League where everyone is considered equal. The "Leaders" are merely providers of info and equipment, and the real power comes from the rest of the members. I can give other options that keep the basic multiverse idea but with a more familiar setting, since you know, I still want a Co-GM to help make and run this.

Another possible plot idea: In Crystal Tokyo, evil thought to have been defeated long ago has started to reappear, and Neo-Queen Serenity calls in Sailor Pluto to figure out what's happening. She reports that Space-Time is being altered by an outside force, allowing enemies to be revived and dropped into different dimesions, overwhelming the Sailor Senshi there.

The good news is that their interference in the fabric of reality also allows Pluto to do the same, letting her pluck extra allies from different times and places to assist in the fight. Neo Queen Serenity authorizes Pluto to build a cross-dimesional base, and to start trolling for help immidiately. The base itself is similar to Central Command found in the Game Corner, but bigger. Characters are gathered and then dropped into different episodes and chapters where extra enemies have been placed, helping protect the timeline and getting more information on the one causing the problems in the first place.

Any other suggestions?

Sounds good to me! Do we have enough players for character sheets to be posted?

I sill need a co-GM to help work out the details of the plot. I wasn't planning to start this right away either. Maybe January or Febuary depending on how fast it comes together.

Well, I dunno how well I'd be at game-running, but I can help you with plotting and worldbuilding if you like.

Using my phone right now so this will be short but I like that idea better. Also I am willing to help with plotting and stuff if you're okay with that.

[up][up]:If you don't feel confident in your GM skills, you can always just control various monsters and minions that are involved in missions.

[up],[up][up]Awesome, so now we can start on exactly what the main Big Bad is, and what their general plans are for taking over everything.

And maybe some speculation on what Pluto's base functions as. Should the player characters stay there like an apartment between missions, or just keep moving around between different areas?

Missions don't get finished immidiately since Pluto can't drop them directly into a battle, only near the time period where a conflict starts, so the players have to investigate and explore a little to figure out what's going on, all while attempting ot keep their cover as someone who belongs there.

I might put in to play as Captain Solar and his archrival, Lord Oort.

[up][up]Well, I think if there's all these senshi around there's really only one ultimate villain we can have, isn't there? Chaos. Or Sailor Chaos, if you will. It's really the only thing in the SM-verse big enough to attract this kind of gathering.

Or if you'd prefer to go with a more original villain, I'd at least recommend they were a fragment of Chaos, just to keep the villain theme going.[lol]

Hm...Maybe a sentient fragment of Sailor Chaos is working to attempt to get out of the Cauldron faster by messing with the timelines?

[up][up] Feel free to do so when I manage to get a sign up sheet together.

Sorry, I know nothing about Sailor Moon.

If someone were to try a character from Parallel Sailor Moon, could it work within the setting?

Yeah, that should be fine. As long as the character has no information about events that happened outside of the Parallel verse. Basically, just stick with what your character would logically know while R Ping.smile
