Aye, once Toonami starts it won't be April Fools anymore. Time zone depending.

Well..... Rick is still Rick I guess, heheheh.

I am both in awe & horrified of the man. Seriously its amazing how you can be so proud of him but find him so..... fucked up, Jesus man.

I love everything Morty did, the kid has come so far. [tup]

I can't believe the bitch is still alive, shit poor Squanchie. sad

And once again Jerry and Morty get the short end of the stick while Beth and Summer smile in heartbreaking bliss and ignorance.

Is this gonna impact Toonami any? I'm gonna get miffed if this means postponing the new Samurai Jack.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?

[up]but jack is supposed to start at 11.

my guess for this season is rick will have to get beth and jerry back together because morty will say he will go with his dad in the divorce, so rick has to stop that.

[up] Huh yeah that's true so will it stop at 11?

Though seriously Morty has come a long way. This episode cinches that no matter what he knows Rick best & unlike Beth & Summer will not romanticize who he is. While he does love his grandpa he admits that his family would honestly be better off with Rick out of there lives.

I feel bad for Jerry though. I hope Morty keeps in touch with his dad though I believe a divorce is for the best really unless Morty does something.

I didn't catch the actual rerun announcement, just quoting someone from last page. I'm in the midwest so starting time means nothing to me.

A divorcee probably would be for the best, but not like this. Happening this way is basically the worst thing for everyone. Except Rick, of course.

I figure that this means Toonami will air their programming an hour later, then. Which I guess means it won't be April Fool's for them.

Adultswim.com has an April fools stream that's marathoning the new episode if you want to watch online.

Just watched it. Great opener with one hell of an ending.

Now to wait at least three or four months for the rest of the season.

I feel absolutely terrible for Jerry. The man's life was ruined by his own Father-in-Law. I hope the character is still in the show, though, even if his role is dropped from Major Character to Secondary Character. The last thing I'd want for Jerry is to simply be Put on the Bus.

Also, Rick really went all out this episode; screwing over both the Galactic Government and the Council of Ricks. Hell, he got a whole bunch of Rick's and Morty's killed with his stunt, and he personally killed all of the Major Rick Councilmen. The Council will probably never recoup from this, but it seems like the Galactic Empire will if The Stinger is anything to go by. They must've converted from Space Dollars to Dollar Dollars.

All in all, this was an awesome Rick and Morty Episode, and it's got my hyped for Season 3!

So Rick actually is an amoral self-centered ass who only cares about screwing around and forcing his grandson around, and will do anything in order to keep that balance? Or was it just a homage to the rant from the pilot?

[up] Both really.

I mean Summer was right that he turned himself in to protect his family but Morty is also right in that he's a fucked up asshole who's a constant danger hazard.

The Smiths are stuck with him, for better or until it gets worse.

Rick went into detail about how he turned himself in because he knew he could use the opportunity to take out the Federation. The family probably factors into it, but this episodes makes last season finale a lot less touching.

[up][up] Basically this. I do think Rick cares about Morty, Summer, and even Beth, we've seen plenty of evidence that despite everything he says he does care for at least his Rick. It's just that there's one Person he cares about more: Himself.

Which makes Summer buying his BS all the more saddening & Beth siding with him worse.

At least Morty knows the real Rick but damn do I feel for the poor guy especially as he can't do anything to tell his sister and mother the truth.

If there is one good thing Morty inherited from Jerry is that that he got Jerry's ability to see Rick for the maniac that he is.

So once again Rick is smarter than everybody and anyone who has a problem with his many horrible flaws got screwed over. And Summer, who use to have a mind of her own, has been turned into gibbering fangirl. Real good writing there.

Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.

I mean, that's been Summer's thing for awhile. She's jealous because, as Morty said, she doesn't understand Rick and the things he's done the same way Morty does.

Even after seeing the Cronenberg world her opinion did not change.

Though honestly give it time. Its Rick for God's sake, he's gonna do something awful soon.

[up][up][up] I think that's an oversimplification. It's more that Summer really hasn't until now understood the full ramifications of Rick's actions.

And Rick... is complicated. I'm glad they didn't go the full way with making him a complete Woobie type character, but that ending put a lot of ambiguity as to whether he is or isn't a complete unrepentant asshole.

Rick is almost completely amoral and assholish. The almost part makes the moments of humanity shine brighter, but I'm glad the writers don't actually expect you to think he's a good person deep down or anything like that.

Morty summarized it pretty well: "He's not a villain, [Summer] but he shouldn't be your hero. He's more like a demon, or some kind of fucked up god."

Unfortunately, a lot of fans don't get that, and go full on Draco in Leather Pants with him.
