Rewatching the "telepathic parasite" episode. I've not seen a situation spiral so hilariously out of control since that one episode of Far Scape where... note
Regardless, I think this episode is Rick and Morty at it's best. Rick's Bad Ass Season 3 self might be fresher in memory, but I can't remember too many episodes where he wasn't responsible for the episode's disaster, completely overwhelmed by the craziness, or otherwise unable to regain control of the situation. Seeing Rick in a rare position of helplessness makes this episode a treat.
- I like how Rick's line about "never being so uncertain before in his life" comes back up later.
- Keith David as reverse-giraffe... I'm not sure there's a character in existence his voice can't make hilarious.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!In the Vindicators episode Rick did kind of seem out of his depth, if by a trap of his creation when in a drunken stupor he forgot about. Morty had to solve pretty much every trap, and the remaining Vindicator would have humiliatingly killed them both if not for dumb luck in drunk!Rick's planning.
The teeny-verse episode probably also counts as the one time Morty successfully overthrown control from Rick, if only briefly to reverse the damage he done.
Rick can be outdone, not often, but it's possible. And we'll see what happens with Evil Morty, whose already committed Rick genocide at mere whim.
But yeah Reverse Giraffe is among very few to run verbal-rings around Rick. Not bad for a one-scene gag character.

Ah, I forgot about "Rickle In Time" too.
I mean, it technically wasn't his fault, and he couldn't really predict the time-cop showing up, or Morty and Summer making things worse.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I love the testicle time-cop.
Everything about him & what he did is hilarious.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie.""<sniff> I vill mess vith time!"
Edit: Quick question. This is a series full of fucked up moments. But what, in your own opinion, was the most fucked up moment?
For me, it's this one:

Disgusted, but not surprisedEverything about that kid who has sex with those things then eats them in a weird incest cannibalism cycle. Just... holy shit, even now, that one managed to disturb me despite my black comedy tastes.
Improving as an author, one video at a time.(2)

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!While the butter robot scene isn't the most fucked up one IMHO, it does serve as a good establishing series moment. In those few seconds you get a feel for the show's tone and themes.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI don't know if it's the most fucked up, but the car ride home from the therapist where Rick and Beth just sort of try to forget all of the issues pointed out to them, while Morty and Summer both clearly want to go back but know it's not going to happen still sticks out in my mind.
That's probably one of the sadder scenes, in a mundane way. Which I guess in some ways makes it all the more fucked up.
Disgusted, but not surprisedHow about that time Rick destroyed 2 universes out of spite?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The most fucked up thing is probably yes, Beth's friend trapped in her holographic fantasy paradise eating his incest children.
The thing they fucked up the most is probably the whole space economy collapsing because Rick hacked one computer, which for a show that tries to be fairly serious when it comes to its various sciences is just insulting.

"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"For me it was the ending of the shapeshifting alien episode. .... WOOF. Though for many that's more of a culmination of everything the show stands for instead of an intro.
The funniest thing about that episode was that the whole thing could have been avoided if Rick had just washed his hands.

Disgusted, but not surprisedlol yeah. Still the best episode to me while simultaneously being the most harshly shocking.

I still love how everyone in the actual family being a shitty person is how they figured out who was real. Jerry leaving Beth to fend off a crazy homeless man by herself, Beth drunkenly giving Summer a blackeye on picture day, everything that Rick did to Morty...

Morty masturbating in the kitchen...
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"And Beth panicing and nervously drinking wine in the kitchen. Yikes.
The Jellybean rape scene was probably the most unpleasant to watch moment in the series, and a key moment not even the audacious setting could save from how too real it was, Black Comedy comeuppance aside.
I'm wondering if the 'Beth a clone?' sub plot is going to amount to another example, especially since Beth has been depicted as suspiciously sympathetic since the supposed change.

The entire point of Rick giving her that option was so that she could leave if she wanted, or have peace of mind knowing that she actually choose the life she's living.
Whether she's a clone or not (and I really think "not" is the answer at this point) people are going to assume she is no matter what at this point.

Hey we got some new news.
Cause of the heavy episode ordering we are apparently no longer gonna have humongous wait times in-between seasons.
Things are gonna be coming in at shorter controlled bursts.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."What made that scene worse was that Jellybean was voiced by Tom Kenny. As in Spongebob and Ice King.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI'm getting more and more uneasy about this new season.
Also, I forgot to add Rick's paraglider stunt as my #2 most f'cked up moment from this series.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!You mean the one where he enacted a sexual fantasy with Unity that involved a stadium full of red-heads with the stands packed with every man who resembled his father? While he was wearing a crotch-less Uncle Sam costume?
Nothing wrong with that. Don't kink shame.
Disgusted, but not surprised
>Why, hello there, Steven Universe fans!
https://youtu.be/IvgD-BD9ZEA
In all seriousness though they left foreshadowing in a lot of places which fans picked up,like a giant penny in a batman styled secret secret cave
I don't think fans guessing at evil Morty meant they had to change their plans,if anything it meant they were paying attention
New theme music also a box
