Saw the first episode. It was funny at parts. The art is going to take some getting used to. The constant burping from Rick was annoying. I'm looking to see how future episodes play out.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireI thought it was pretty funny but I have to watch more episodes to see if I will continue to watch.
You can tell Dan Harmon co-created it because I noticed a couple of things that were also in Community like Rick saying "Duh doy".
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureI for one kinda like the art. It's like an intelegent, artistic 6-yr-old drew them out to look like a mash-up of Bobs Burgers and Uncle Grandpa, then threw some Family Guy styled jokes and Futurama plots to tie it all together. Adult Swim really had nothing much to look forward to anymore, except Toonami coming back, but that's different, I guess. Rick and Morty seems to be something to bring back the young masses. Can't wait for next Monday.

Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceWhat sort of Family Guy-style jokes? You mean the cutaways?
I have a message from another time...Actually I meant the interaction between Morty and his world, which feels like an American dad episode when he wants to attract the popular girl. I guess that's canon in most adult animated series with dysfunctional families anyways.
Sidenote: Glad they killed off the bully in the first episode. Mort's already got enough to worry about with his drunk bastard of a grandfather.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceI thought the first episode was hilarious. Certainly will keep watching to see if it stays that way. My favorite part was the ending (Which I won't spoil).
The only thing about the art is how so much of the alien stuff is so... uh... droopy and hairy.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireRick is a riot, you can just see his sanity collapsing every time he opens his mouth.
Being a long-term Channel 101 fan, I'm very happy to see Justin getting so big.
And amazed Doc and Mharti, of all things, became a TV show.
DumboNew ep tonight. I'd really like to see more of the sister's side of life, but just in B-plot form.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceOK. Im sold. This show is great.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireI did not need to see the teacher having sexual fantasies of Mort's semi-attractive sister. But, That's exactly what Brian from American Dad would do.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceI was expecting worse from the teacher, honestly.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireSame, although Summer looking/acting all stripperific (with incest implications to boot!) squicky along with the rest of...more or less everything else in that BDSM dungeon thing there. At least it made Morty's reaction to his sister hugging him and accidentally giving him Marshmallow Hell outright hilarious.
I think the show is great, can't wait to see more. Also like the fact that it's episodes are available on You Tube (no region blocking to my knowledge) on the official [as] channel.

has a clue, but it's usually not the correct one 0.55% of the timeNew episode was pretty good. It looks like we've gotten through all the promotional material by this point, too.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireAnatomy Park was pretty good. I was half expecting The chick to stay with Morty as his shipping material. And also half expecting Token Black guy to be an adopted son but this show likes to freak me out at every turn since he's Jerry's mother's lover!!! . Clever on how they made a Christmas episode without overdoing the christmas crap like they do on Family Guy.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceAgain, Rick's personality keeps me sold on the show. His angst over "Pirates of the Pancreas" was the best part.
Anyone had any crossover fantasies of this series and something family friendly like Gravity Falls?
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceThere are *moments* when i could imagine that i'm watching something much more family friendly, usually ended whenever Rick opens his mouth. It has a real sense of a good old-fashioned A Boy and His X type of adventure, except that the X in this case is a man who has long since descended into rabid sociopathy
Not exactly what I meant but it does make up for why it feels less like The Venture Bros and more Steven Universe-like. I meant have you thought of doing a crossover of this series with any others. I'll probably post my idea to the dream cartoon crossover thread.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceThat's what i was driving at, too, that it could fit with those series in a crossover type of style (without too much fuss either since parallel dimensions are a thing here), depending on how you want to re-cast the general level of family-friendliness on either side.
New episodes return tommorrow. The next is "M. Night Shami-ALIEN". Boy, I hope they don't make it as bad his own films.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceUnfortunately, I was too busy switching back and forth to Chozen to see every bit, but the ending was classic Rick. I just love the way his "High and mighty" attitude co-exists with his violent drunk nature.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceWatched one episode, specifically the simulation one on youtube, forgot the title, but I'll say this.
This has so much potential to be a great series, if not already one. The charm, the humor, the wit, one episode and I already love it and want to watch the rest. Definitely one of the positive things too look up to for 2014
Yeah, wasted half my Tumblr time to watch the pilot, but enough jokes. Rick and Morty is a pretty funny show about a socialy akward schoolboy voiced by Justin Roiland (who also serves as co-creator.) and his drunken genius grandfather, who I sware is voiced by Gruncle Stan. IMHO, this is a somewhat passible continuation of Futurama or Back to the future. What are your thoughts?
